POE IS TOO EXPENSIVE

clickbait title....Ok, but my point is really that the cost of chase items has increased way too much for me to enjoy playing this game anymore


It USED to be that, ok, if I really wanted to chase a crazy item I had to farm like 100ex for a headhunter and that was THE item.

Now there are chase items all over the place. headhunter is now mid-cost item?? (yes probably due to new changes, but still)

ashes, omniscience...40ex each. Squire 40ex (thank god its cheaper lol), AWAKENED enlighten/empower/enhance? 40ex-100ex. I never woulda thought a 6L werapon would be the cheap part of a build

Let us not forget mageblood or voices -_-


I'm sure many of you are happy with the new crazy costs of these chase items but it, in part, has done me in.

I didn't play this league and you know what? I am totally ok with it. POE has fallen into the nostalgic part of gaming for me now, and I'll pop in now and then and see what's up. Maybe read the latest Shags post <3

imo its a welcome return to the good old days when shavs was 80ex, mjolner 40ex, soultaker 40ex, kaoms 30ex etc etc. back when there was stuff in the game that could drop that was worth a lot.

no one had a build that used a shavs and a kaoms and a soultaker and a mjolner all at once, you used to pay 100ex for your headhunter, sure, well if u had a shavs build it was 80ex or if it was a shavs and a mjolner thats 120ex but no one needed 500ex to buy every chase item in the game for 1 build and id argue they still dont.

i think the period where there was 1 chase unique and it was HH or a mirror or nothing, if you didnt expect to get one of those from ur map or your boss fight then you didnt expect to get anything you gave a crap about, i think that was a dark period in time loot wise for the game. i should feel excited to run content because theres stuff that can drop that i care about, surely thats essential to a loot game.

you *know* ggg has something to do with it. last league ashes and omni were 1ex or less. ggg changes their droprates and now theyre 40 ex each.


ggg *COULD* increase the drop rates on all of these chase items, and completely destroy their value. but i agree with snorkle, having a few chase items is good for gameplay. it gives players a huge high when one drops, and gives players items to strive for.

Meme builds just for fun cost now like 300 ex to even do maps

off meta skills 100 ex to work
the old poe pre-nerfed and pre-put cap on everything was much better three years ago now the game is getting more and more narrow and there is less and less skill variety to play

So let me get this straight... you are nostalgic about the fact that HH was the only chase item at 100ex upwards, and now you have several, more budget friendly options, like the ones you´ve mentioned, and you DON´T like it?

This game is the most complex game ever created on this Planned.Getting the money for what you need or Crafting it by your self takes allot of time and money you have to go to a specific website just to know wtf you even have to do.Game is designed around real Hardcore players who have the knowledge and time to progress.İ wonder how a new player feels when he plays this game.İ guess most will quit after 2 or 3 days.

New players should join guilds and GGG should make guilds and the whole social side of the game more accesable.

Our guild often takes newbies and it usually doesnt take long to understand how the game works. Sure they will not craft mirror tier items in their first league but they usually manage to kill shaper, maven ect.

The price increased simple because you can farm more. Few years ago you could dream about getting 5ex/h with best strats, now you can get that by "ach&go" as long you have some speedy build.

You can make up to 10ex an hour easy with a good strat that involves one scarab max. 60ex for an amulet doesnt sound so much if you only need 6 hours to get it in a heavly grinding focused game.
