Error: Transferred a partial file while downloading"
Greetings,
I've been trying for a week now to download the latest patches (haven't played in several months), and I'm consistently getting an error every time I launch the client. I've tried redownloading the Content.ggpk several times, and I still get the same error message. I'm now down to the last 11 mb of the client, and this one file refuses to download properly. "Error: Transferred a partial file while downloading http://patchcdn.pathofexile.com/0.9.9.7/Art/Textures/Environment/Act3/platesns.dds" This comes up every single time, even if I try redownloading from scratch. The Client immediately quits after this. I downloaded the PackCheck.exe from the top post in the forum, and ran it, and this was the result: C:\Games\Path of Exile>PackCheck Content.ggpk Checking pack file Content.ggpk... /Art/Textures/Environment/Act3/platesns.dds hash isn't in sync. Repaired. /Art/Textures/Environment/Act3 hash isn't in sync. Repaired. /Art/Textures/Environment hash isn't in sync. Repaired. /Art/Textures hash isn't in sync. Repaired. /Art hash isn't in sync. Repaired. This seems to accomplish nothing, though, because running the Client again gets me to the exact same place I was before. Last edited by froderick#7480 on May 20, 2012, 11:20:44 AM

Try running as admin. Try turning off the virus scanner while it is downloading. The last one might mess with the file.
Don't read my signature!

I get the same behavior whether I run in admin or not. Even with Microsoft Security Essentials turned off.

This seems like a proxy/cache problem e.g. something between you and the patch server has cached a bad copy of the file.
It looks like your patcher isn't falling back on the backup patch servers though, which would hopefully let that file download (depending a little on the proxy). My guess would be that you haven't successfully patched the game since that feature was added - please try downloading this file: http://patchcdn.pathofexile.com/0.9.9.7/Client.exe and place it in your install dir (overwriting the existing file) and then try patch the game again. | |
That worked! Thank you :)
