Ability Mapping Between Steam Deck and Desktop
I recently got my steam deck, and PoE's been running great on it. Never played PoE on controller before this point, but the mappings felt pretty natural. Menu-ing took me a while to figure out, but it was a quick learn, and all of the button prompts are well-positioned and easy to understand.
My one complaint has to do with the way it apparently persists how you've mapped your abilities to keys/buttons. When I first booted up PoE on the deck, I remapped what abilities were bound to what button combinations, as things like my movement skills were buried in the L2/R2 sub-menus, and I prefer having quicker access to those. However, when I then swapped back to PoE on my desktop, I noticed that my abilities got rebound to new keys (my movement skill moved from Q to middle mouse, as an example). Curious, I remapped them on desktop, then went to boot it up on the deck, and sure enough the bindings were back to what they were when I first launched the game. It's not a _huge_ deal, but it would be nice if these two mappings were separated somehow, so that when I swap to and from the steam deck I don't have to remap stuff every time. Great job on the controller layout for PC though! I assume it's similar to consoles, but still very impressive. Last bumped on Feb 13, 2023, 8:49:53 PM

BUMP. Server side mapping is bad at least without client specificity.
Also for fuck sake can you fix aimable channeling skills on controller input. Also can you please for crying out loud allow remapping for ALL buttons on the steamdeck? Why am I required to hold a trigger button down just to use the four primary buttons to alternate through 12 skills WHEN THERE'S 12 BUTTONS ON THE DAMN CONTROLLER. /rant @BeerPact
