NPC audio dialogues cut off before finishing; Dialogue bugs

Some of the NPC audio dialogues cut off before finishing. This happens with various NPC audio dialogues, but not all. One example is when you first encounter Captain Fairgraves and you select the third dialogue option for Merveil's Necklace the scrolling text will reach the end before the audio dialogue does and the audio dialogue will stop before it's finished.

I don't believe my system setup has anything to do with the NPC dialogue cutting off before finishing. It appears to be an issue within the game and happens no matter the system setup.

Other details:
Steam client, Proton 7.0-2, audio, dialogue, NPC, story line

System info:
Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.3 x64
Kernel: 5.3.18-150300.59.68-default
Audio backend: Pulseaudio
Audio device: Astro A50 Wireless/USB Mixamp 1st Generation
3D Graphic Renderer: Vulkan

I noticed the same thing returning to the game after a big break. As far as I can tell almost all dialogue of Lady Dialla is like that, as well as said Fairgraves. The text seems to scroll too quickly for Npcs that talk in a slower manner, and the dialogue closes and ends the audio too quickly.
But I'm sure they are not the only npcs that this happens to.
