Trade improvement without full automation (by Subtractem)

The trade system in the game is great.

It allows to barter,
incentive to communicate,
incentive to find permanent buyers or sellers,
incentive to sort your stashes and sell in bulk,
gives every item a minimum cost,
creates an economy that is kept alive most of the league,
because most people unless they are new to the game,
don't sell under a certain threshhold,
because trading is taking time.

At the start of the league I sell stuff for 1-2 chaos,
after some point I don't sell anything below 5 chaos.

In the current trade system it's hard to make bots,
especially ones that are undetected or that people trust.

If they implement your changes,
every trade is just put a random price,
press accept whereever your are.
Any bot can do that.
And most people don't like trade anyway.
They will just trade everything for 1 scroll of wisdom,
because they can do it instantly,
and also because bots would ruin the market no matter how much anyone plays or how many you ban.

The current way,
you can only sell stuff that is actually worth it for the things you can farm.

You currently can't sell in maps without losing a portal,
which means you probably won't leave your map to trade for 1 scroll of wisdom.

Remove that,
and everything will cost 1 scroll of wisdom,
unless it's an endgame crafted item,
then it will cost the craft cost+1-10 scrolls of wisdom.

Also people currently can't really mass buy items to manipulate prices,
very easily or fast.

Make trading one click, and some guy or bot buys 60 items per minute,
3600 per hour and just sells them for as high as anyone is willing to pay,
making infinite profit.

Currently you have to weigh trading time vs farming time,
and the better your gear gets,
the more worth your time becomes.

With instant trading you can do from anywhere,
that is gone,
you just dump your inventory into a public stash,
with everything priced at 1 wisdom scroll,
go farm on and everyone ruins the market.

The whole depth of the game,
the whole process of learning what is worth something and what isn't,
the whole process of changing what you actually care to sell,
would be gone.

Entirely.

The only people that could afford endgame items,
would be bots,
people that buy currency with cash,
or people that craft or drop super valuable endgame items.

Only thing they can change is to make some small edge cases slightly less risky for scamming or ruining high tier crafted items, when you try to get a garden craft from another person, by giving you the same trade window we have,
the same conditions (both need to be in the players hideout),
with a dedicated trade interface,
where you place the item you want crafted + the currency for the service,
and the other person chooses a craft from their station,
and after that both need to accept.

amen!

i would say that the current system is much too convenient even after sentinel (intentionally i guess) added another reason to not leave your map for a trade.
