Effect of blocking encounters

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know about the exact effect of blocking out specific encounters through the atlas passive tree?

I wonder which of the following effects is actually happening.

1. In case a blocked encounter would occur, ANOTHER unblocked encounter will occur instead. In addition, you receive an additional 2% chance to have one of the other encounters.

2. In case a blocked encounter would occur, NO encounter will occur instead. You do only receive an additional 2% chance to have one of the other encounters.

Thank you for your responses.

Best regards,
Falkon

The game does not roll the chance for the encounter and then check whether it is blocked.

Those nodes blocking content set the chance for the encounter to appear randomly to 0% so the encounter will never roll in the first place.

In exchange you gain 2% for each of the other types of extra content (blocked types will still have their chance set to 0%).
Hi, thank you for you response. So is it 2% increase for each content? Which would mean for example 2% * 9 = 18% Chance for other encounters in total if only one encounter is blocked. Or do the other encounters share the 2% chance in total so that each other encounter has its chance increased by 2% / 9 = 0.2222% ?

The total number of the types of extra content is 15, but only 10 can be blocked.

So technically, the first notable of those that you allocate (assuming you have no other added chance to encounter that content) grants a cumulative chance of 14 * 2% - 8% = 20% to encounter extra content.

Realistically, not every type of extra content is worth the same, so the cumulative chance gain is not necessarily an optimal metric.
