Mana Siphon and Doryani's Prototype
For all the talk of not stepping on the toe's of Headhunter users and RF builds, there seems to be none of Doryani's Prototype and the archnemesis mod Mana Siphon.
Doryani's prototype only allows armour to work versus lighting hits and molten shell only works against hits too. This makes the lighting damage over time from mana siphon a guaranteed kill trying to get to the center. TLDR: Mana siphon kills instantly against doryani's prototype users Last bumped on May 18, 2022, 2:39:01 AM

" I wanted to try to build something around this. Thanks for warning. I'll stay away from it. |

The unique has always been risky. You should be able to partially mitigate it with reduced damage over time/reduced elemental damage/less lightning damage.
Mana siphon's dot is fairly overtuned at the moment so if it gets a numerical nerf I don't see this being a problem. Украина в моём сердце

Thank you GGG
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3268799 Mana Siphoner: Reduced the Lightning Damage Over Time taken by Enemies in the Aura by 33%, and the amount of Mana lost per second by Enemies in the Aura by 67%. We are also looking to improve the visual clarity and reduce the size of the Ring in the near future. |

Well at -200% lightning res it still insta kills there is no difference.

The things they do to make Trickster's Heartstopper appear relevant...
But, yes. Having a moving )and kicking) Baran's Mana Siphoning Sigil while casually mapping is a horrible experience nevertheless. |

" I don't think its balanceable or mitigatable given the circumstances. For the nerfs to matter to Doryani's, it basically has to be ignorable aside from the mana drain for every other build. Endgame characters have a minimum of 75% lightning resistance so a hit dealing 100 damage only does 25. Going from 75% to 0% is already a 400% increase in damage taken. Lets say you have -150% resistance on your DP build. That means you're taking 250 damage where a normal character would take 25. Is it actually possible or reasonable to get -90% reduced elemental damage taken or elemental damage taken over time? - You can get 10% from pantheon. - 6% If you're a Pathfinder through nature's boon. - 10% if you're a trickster with Prolonged Pain. - Or 15% if you can hinder and you're an Occultist with Withering Presence. - 10% from fortification mastery if you can keep up the stacks. So 35% if you somehow build a melee DP occultist that hinders? 162.5 vs 25, still a 650% more multiplier. Last edited by jerot#5117 on May 18, 2022, 2:43:17 AM
