Kirac's Vault Pass

Hey there,

Long time player here. Just wanted to put my thoughts on the Kirac's Vault season pass thing.

I've played every league since the game launched and only in the last year or two I've slowed down in playing them due to life and such. For example, I started school in January and I also moved to another country. As such, I dismantled my pc and shipped it ahead of me and couldn't play Archnemesis until about a week ago. Funny enough a week ago my wife and I got covid so we were dealing with that.

But I saw the Kirac's Vault and not wanting to miss out on exclusive skins (I'm a sucker for these sometimes) I dedicated what time I could to rushing Archnemesis in the last few days I got to play before the deadline.
I was actually both surprised and impressed with how fast I was able to progress almost entirely on my own in such a short time until I hit a roadblock.


Now I remember racing back in the day, where you'd be rewarded with alt skins of unique items after earning points in each race. One such reward was the alt headhunter skin. I was a total arpg n00b back then and didn't realize just what I missed out by not taking part in the races as much as I could with the free time I had back then.
I didn't want to miss that chance this time around.


I eventually realized (a few hours ago in fact) that some of the unique maps are so incredibly rare that the likelihood of completing 117/117 was impossible. That really bummed me out. I'm not the type of player to amass so much wealth in a league that I can buy maps or items that are in the 10s of exalts, I just play and enjoy the game and see what happens (and that usually defines my league experience). But even grinding and paying real money you are still locked out of the most prestige and elite skin, in this case, and I think this sucks a lot. Mostly because it feels shitty to come to that realization so late which is in part my fault for having no prior experience with those endgame unique maps specifically, but also typical seasonal passes aren't gated so hard (at least in the few games I've taken part in).



I think going forward, if you want people to buy into your seasonal pass, you need some leeway when it comes to the final skin, otherwise, it is near guaranteed that a majority of players will not attain it and so it is almost pointless to even design such exclusive skins.

PoE is still one of my favourite games to burn out on, I just think that Kirac's Vault could be done better for the ""average"" poe player.

That's just my two cents.

Doryanis map has been removed.

The rest are easily obtainable.

It was just one map, that had a value of more than 30c and it is now gone. (actually costed a small pile of exalts, So your complaint is valid in my eyes.)

SO the biggest holdback is now gone.

With the inclusion of scouting reports it had never been easier to get 100% atlas completion than archnem league. Hell in the process of doing full completion kirac offered me at least 3 doryani's mech missions, from doing self found scouting reports at that.

You guys both make good points. I'll keep that in mind next time I try to go for an atlas completion. I felt like I was at the end of my rope with no solution, so I appreciate the feedback to my feedback.
