Lightning Strike + Resolute Technique?
I'm planning on making a character using LS, but I'd first like to know if I should bother with RT? Apparently the projectiles can't miss, so is there a point to taking RT? I'm not sure how much the melee attack matters, especially if I use LS with GMP.

Note on wiki:
"The Projectiles cannot miss if the melee attack hits its target." Without enough accuracy your melee will miss, and thus your projectiles will miss. |

"but you can still just smash the ground, right? That which does not kill us, makes a huge mistake.

The projectiles can miss if you just smash the ground, without RT hit is capped at 95%. Since no part of Lightning strike's description has spell in it then the skill can miss if you don't have RT.
Only spells have 100% hit. IGN: FoughtBledAndWeptForGod, WoE_HitoZ

" bad idea if you are planning to use lightning strike's projectiles as your main source of damage 1. its 30% less projectile damage 2. there are better alternatives if you plan to nuke mobs at range standing still the projectiles are a added damage bonus to your melee attack.. not the other way around.. in most cases you want to smash the mob in the face with lightning strike for maximum damage output |

Good to know. Thanks!

Of course, if you want to attack EVERYONE then you'll use it at range. Just the basic Accuracy nodes you'll get as part of your build will be enough, usually.

Don't listen to them about using the projectiles as main source of dmg.
Multistrike+lightning strike is the best melee setup in the game right now because the projectiles aren't affected by the multistrike 40% damage reduction. Last edited by ilovemyjob#2614 on Apr 11, 2013, 4:05:22 PM
