Map Quantity and Mods

I am fairly new to the map system and could use some pointers

Which MODS should be best used for maps and what quantity do you stop rerolling it?

To my understanding the best mods are + Magic / Rare Monsters

For example
Do you guys still run the maps with +30 Magic Monsters, but only +9 quantity in total?
Or is Quantity > good mods.

Also what level maps should i start making them rares?

Whatever gives you more monsters or more better monsters are the best mods.

This means + Magic monsters, + Rare monsters, + Map Size (Maze or + Area), + Monster Pack Size

I've heard that more monsters > more map quantity for item and map drops, but I haven't seen any empirical evidence and I doubt there can be any.

I am new to maps too, played my first 3 maps yesterday actually. I tried to roll more monsters or magic monsters. Last map, after killing some boss roha he left 7 rares :) with map quantity at 9%.

I also trying to understand difference between map quality and quantity, what exactly chisels do?

i'm currently avoiding more map monsters by itself, i'm trying to get the hardest mods that give highest quantity, unless i get the bigger pack size, or more magic mobs with a good high quantity mod on a blue/rare map then i go alone with it.

As for the OP, you should aim for high quantity while making sure the map isn't too difficult for you. As for "more mobs", in time and with practice you'll see when such a mod is okay and when it isn't.
Chisels increase the quality of a map, which in turn makes it so that the map gives you a bigger QUANTITY of items.

I.E. It will, on average, give more items than a lower quality map.

I was doing that too and now I'm not very certain which is the better way to go.

It's basically the debate between more monsters vs. more items per killed monster.

Exactly, it's about trying to find a certain balance between both, also this changes from 1 map to another, some maps have low density, some have higher. With practice and self-experimentation, you can figure out what works "ok" for you on each specific map.

edit: i advise not using chisels on low level maps, save them up when you start doing higher ones.

has the map test I run with the mods and drops, couldn't care less for the type of mods I would guess maze and increase area
i usually go for larger area/maze. Some maps become so much larger with maze, dungeon and grotto for example. I found 6 maps last time i did maze grotto.
