Have more then 10 Grad Celsius more CPU Temp with DX 12 (beta)

As the Toping says... i have 12-15 grad ceslsius more with dx12 enabled.

My system is a 5600X AMD CPU and a 6700 XT

Noramly i have 58 Grad in GPU and 60 Grad Celsius on CPU.

With DX12 it is instant over 70 Grad celsius.

Is it a bug?

Offc it is still not optimized enough. And this POE1 game engine is still old in general.
GGG thank you for all the great things you are doing. You have combined every element of all other great Rpg's and joined them together as one Diamond, that will shine Forever.

This is coming straight from the heart <3
you would have to check the specs of your gpu and cpu.

in general, a cpu shouldn't get hotter than 70°C and a gpu shouldn't get higher than 90°C although older gpu's are quite capable of reaching temperatures of over 100°C
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
i play all games! with under 65 grad celsius. Only time its over 70 when i activate DX12 in POE.

Skyrim 4k, Cyberpunk 4k max details. 61 Grad, poe 4k all on 62 grad, warhammer III 2k max details 59 grad.

i use a asrock ROCK pure rock2 CPU cooler! if that isnt enought i dont know.

all games i play are super smooth and cool. ONly DX12 heats up that far.

EVEN CPu stress tests are max 73 grad :=)

boxed coolers often enough cool a cpu under full load to 80° (degrees btw, not grad, no one who doesnt speak german actually knows what you mean :P)

if you have a I9 Cpu and upwards, the heat is actually a commmon "issue" because the application of the heatspreader is shit, it is soldered, which CAN have gaps in contact with the CPUs die.

no clue about that particular amd cpu tho

anyway, DX12 on such an fairly old and modded engine, leads to huge load on your cpu in certain cases.
your temps are in no way troublesome tho.

rule of thumb is basically 90° on cpu and 100 on gpu, and you're still safe.
the tolerance also increased over the past gens of hardware, but that's what i ran with and never had any issues.

I call this bs. Cyberpunk 2077 maxed out at 4k..all buttery smooth, right...
Also, stress tests, provided they are ran properly, will boost until they throttle due to thermals, that's why it's a stress test.

Also, unlike vulkan, DX12 not always provides superior performance, e/g just look at general playerbase experience with dx12 on division 2.
No rest for the wicked.

in all fairness tho, the engine of path of exile is fairly old, as in, from 2008 (?). here and there it got modifications to look as it does today.
putting DX12 as the render-api on that base, makes a shakey housing anyway.
even vulkan has its issues, hence why you should use medium texture quality only if using vulkan => vulkan crashes when there is no free VRAM and the engine doesnt really manage clearing VRAM all too well.

i actually overlooked the cpu stress test being only 73° part, which i also second as utter bs.
running something like prime95 for a couple of minutes even raises the temps of watercooled systems fairly significantly. so an aircooled system with decent, yet not actually good aircooler not exceeding temps of 73° is questionable...
also, is that reading the max value? average? also, just one core? bundled? which tool do you use for the temp readings?

but also, as i stated earlier, those temp readings are a nothing-to-worry-about case.
