past behaviour predicts future behaviour (?)

How do you think?

There was a game once (and it still IS actually) It had kinda the same popularity, it had kinda the same convoluted mechanics, it had the same "you have to learn the game" aura, the "git gud" aura.. And there were many players who valued those aura and convoluted mechanics..

And many, many players wanted to get into it and even less wanted to "gitgud"
And then the company changed their approach to the game's development. They begun to sell things that earlier could be acquired through dedication to the game. They had reasons for that..There are always reasons, you see..

So. I can easily foresee the Chaos/exalts injectors.. Or the guaranteed "best mods" corruption injectors..Or something like that.

Hmm, I don't think PoE will do that in Western markets. On the Asian version, they well could if Tencent wants it.

They have these annoying tendencies to ignore player requests or commercial benefits.

Its good because they dont make you buy things for real money to win.

Its bad because it took 8 years to get things like more concentrated currency stacks because Chris didnt want to admit he was wrong.

I hope not because I can't stand games that dive head first into the worst elements of P2W. I've come to terms with the stash tabs because of their diminishing returns; you only need so many tabs and once you reach that threshold more provide absolutely no benefit. That has always felt closer to pay to play from my optic.

Paying for things that provide advantages and encourage you to keep buying more to gain the same level of advantage just isn't healthy for a game and the players. I know that games thrive on the approach, largely because of whales and addicts that need those advantages to be competitive, but eventually people get tired of losing to the credit card warrior and the addicts will find a new fix to burn their money on.
Thanks for all the fish!
