funny what thw thread has evolved into. Poe has that potential to be a slow burn game like Diablo. It's a shame they never went for it. The story and characters are too bland, no cutscenes and all. It feels like a game where pigeons peck all the time to randomly get a reward, which is a blast when you're playing it with friends, most fun is just watching who rips first in the map. It's extreemly addictive for solo players.

Considering limited playtime, D2 for sure. No time restraints, no seasonal wipes\meta shifts, you can play at your own pace (with friends as well), mod the game if you want additional content (there are some nice mods for the game), and if you feel like it's going too slow, cheat yourself some items\stats to access the harder content. In PoE, you are at the mercy of the developers, who definitely couldn't care less about your time or investment into the game.

Diablo 2 is paid to play, comparing it to free to play POE is just unbalanced.

be thankful that poe made you such a clever person and give them some moneys so they can educate more people.

OO got here at the wrong time. It really sucks that he didn’t get in when POE was in its infancy and pay $10k upfront to get a supporter pack. O well, the joys of being late to a party I guess. What will you do now, OP? Do you roll around in your wealth and feel bad it’s not going to let you sleep at night because you only get half an hour in to sleep?

And that was less infancy, more toddler. At two years old give or take, PoE circa 2013 was going places and saying some crazy shit and everyone was sure it was going to grow up to be something amazing and special.

By that metric, PoE is now firmly a tween: obnoxious, precocious, rebellious but also occasionally painfully aware that things might not get any better than this and that working WITH the system might be better than working AGAINST it.

Luckily here in Merica, 9x the average salary isn't even top 1% earner. :D
