game wont start up

i am facing a problem where the game doesnt start up. a notification window pops up instead, which has the title 'Exception', and this
'vk::Device::waitForFences: ErrorDeviceLost'.

after clicking ok another notification window popped up with the title of 'Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library' and this

'Runtime Error!

Program:

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.'

the game closes when i press ok again.

you can ignore this as it appears i solved my problem on my own. all i did was remove all microsoft c++ redistribute programs on my pc (this may have been a mistake as its possible i needed to remove only one) and re-download the 2015-2022 version. i also switched from the standalone launcher to the steam launcher, though i am not sure if this helped me at all.

the problem i had was only resolved temporarily as i keep getting the runtime error randomly.

there are several people with exactly the same problem.

i thinkit has to do with the gpu driver but thats just a guess
