[Feedback] Nullifiers add nothing to the game and are anti-fun
In PoE are a type of mob rarely seen but when it is, if you are a low-life build it spells instant death when you get hit. Never mind the amount of investment it takes to make such a build work between gear and passive tree points to make sure chaos damage doesn't kill you. What I don't get is what this type of mob adds from a design philosophy. Normally game mechanics are about making choices for trade-offs. Sacrificing defense for offense, survivability, etc. But when a game has mechanics around 'Hey play for this low life build' followed by 'If you play a low life build, eventually no matter what you do you will die with no counter play', it doesn't make any sense. Expedition nodes for culling strike on monsters at least gives the player the choice to skip those nodes or adjust their build temporarily - a meaningful tradeoff for their build path.
As it stands it is impossible to play low life in Hardcore and frustrating for the untimely one shot in softcore. It adds no fun or value except to serve as a contradicting message to players around available mechanics. Last bumped on Apr 24, 2022, 4:15:10 AM

lowlife in HC is pretty common but doing it with the pot isn't because its considered unreliable for obvious reasons. Until recently it was far too expensive passive/ascendancy wise to be an acceptable solution.
Nullifiers are about the most dangerous nemesis mod because potions give such a huge chunk of defence and that is kinda their role. From a design philosophy it makes perfect sense its a buff remover, however Coruscating will have been designed with hybrids in mind not lowlife so if your looking for where the design hole is its because you are using a flask intended for X for unintended Y :p |
