3.17.4 -- "Protocol violation reading wstring from the network" error message
|
Title has the error message when I try loading into town. The game then quits after showing this error message for a brief half second. I'm not sure what I can do because it's not like I can type /bug or give you any more details other than I just downloaded the game update. Running Vulkan, nothing changed on my end settings-wise. Same Issue here, doesn't change if I use Directx11, Vulkan, or Directx12 beta.

Same issue here just posted on a different thread.

I have the same problem since the latest update. Thanks for fix in advance.

Full re-install of the game did not solve the problem either. Did a pack check, repair, nothing seemed to address the issue.

I've just tried repairing my Microsoft c++ runtime library and that hasn't fixed the issue either.

Same issue too. Tried reinstalling the game and Microsoft c++ runtime library

Same issue. One debug I did was to uninstall the game from steam and reinstalled. The same issue came up with I try to log onto any of my in game characters.
BUT I tried and create a new account using another email. It allowed me to create an new character and enter the game. I logged off the character, logged back into the game with no problems. I logged out of my new account and tried my old account, and same WSTRING problem comes up with C++ error crash. Only happens to my old account and not on my new account. I also tried to manually delete all Windows POE files/folders before an reinstall. Same problem as identified above. |
