Act 1 Difficulty for New Players (POV From Seasoned Player)
" By quad processor do you mean Intel i7 900 series, or like 4x threadrippers? Most people still playing enough to bother checking here have at least 8 cores, 512 gb SSD or better, 16-32gb 3600 MHz or better RAM, and a gpu that was issued in the last 3 years. I built a system around Ryzen 5900, 64 gb RAM clocked to 5120 MHz, a 1-TB M2 SSD, and a Saph Nitro RX6600 8gb GDDR6, all water cooled, temps in the 50s during a 5-way, and it STILL chugs and stutters. Individual CPU cores are getting throttled even with multithreading enabled. It's not us, it's GGG. [19:36]#Mirror_stacking_clown: try smoke ganja every day for 10 years and do memory game

It's quite simple really, if you want new players. Just make acts easier, especially early acts. Making it harder is only going to slowdown pros by a bit, and everyone else by a lot.
`Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL
`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL `What are divs?` |

i started a HC SSF char today and currently in act 3....if i can do it in HC then new players can do it on SC...its really not that difficult. the early acts suck regardless of difficulty.

act 1 mud flat, without any gear or rare item, is the most deadly....and then the game will became ez mode once you have gear to build-enable the whole stuff

" no but that shouldnt matter so much. the "new" players who come are not brand new to games like this. they come from diablo or whatever else. |

" right, so you should emulate quin's performance at exilecon restart the game, use a marauder and go heavy strike. also 2 hander while ure at it for extra umph [Removed by Support] Last edited by exsea#1724 on Apr 22, 2022, 1:21:23 AM

" no melee sucks even in late game, but this thread is just about act 1 and 2 isnt it? all skills feel bad that early on because of lack of damage. you just need to avoid hits and move. press life and quicksilver flask. new players who come from similar games should know this. |

" sometimes, not always. my closest poe friend came from fps. anyway poe is easy once you know how to play it, but learning it is not. there are too many details. some(many) people would just give up early if its too hard/complex. `Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL

I find it kind of funny. After that point the entire campaign is a breeze. None of the elements matter and none of the attacks are threatening until you get to act 6 or 7.
Just getting past mervil is the point where you get to act 2, where you get the more helpful gems overall. Once in act 3 you get even more helpful gems. It's all just that initial hump, which is a terrible representation to the game's overall difficulty. Last edited by funplayer#5591 on Apr 23, 2022, 1:54:20 AM
