Suggestions about Witchhunter's Judgement

So, with the help of a part of the community, i did some maths on Witchhunter's Judgement. I'm not an expert, so i may have missed things, and i'll be very happy if anyone can show me how good the staff can be with the right build,
but,
so far, the conclusions are terrible : the staff isn't good enough, Brand Surge isn't good enough to justify using it.
And i wish it was good. Brand Surge is a good concept.


So here are some suggestions, all very different, to make it work :

1) not too far from the initial idea, not changing much :
change brand surge "Overcharged Brands expire 150% faster, +150% every 0.5 seconds" by "Overcharged Brands expire 20% faster, +20% every 0.5 seconds", and change Witchhunter's Judgement "Brand Skills have (50-100)% increased Duration" by "Brand Skills have (125-175)% increased Duration.

2) we can go into more general changes :
add "100% increased Spell Damage" and "100% increased Damage with Ailments" and "100% increased effect of non-Damaging Ailments",
or "Adds 10 to 160 Lightning Damage to Spells" and "Adds 59 to 125 Fire Damage to Spells" and "Adds 51 to 132 Cold Damage to Spells",
or "+1 to level of All Spell Skill Gems" and "30% increased Cast Speed"...

3) or we can just make brands even more interesting :
"You can have an additional Brand Attached to an Enemy" and "When a Overcharged Brand is removed because of exceeding Brand limit, it deals Brand Surge damage in an area", and triple Brand Surge base damage.

4) or we add a defence mechanic to justify the poor offensive capabilities :
"Take 5% less Damage from Enemies with a Brand attached per Overcharged Brand" and "1% chance to Avoid all Damage from Hits per Brand". Still hardly usable with such short-life Brands though i'm afraid...


This game is so big we can come with many other improvement ideas for this staff... it needs them.

I dont remember how exactly this thing work i just remember people saying its buggy. And hat was enough for me to not touch it.

I've tried to work this into a build numerous times and always had to tap out and accept it isn't feasible.

I like the idea but the proc needs a damage buff now they buffed all the on hit spells because its "busted" values are no longer busted

It also needs some stats, I don't think they realise that brand surge really wasn't that good for how we play brands. Honestly i'd love a buff its one of those uniques with high potential it never meets.
