CWDT loop breaks on Burial Chambers boss, every time.
I am running a Skeletons->cwdt loop. For whatever reason, this loop stops CONSTANTLY on the burial chambers boss. It happens so often that I tested it on white maps without mods and it still happens. I've been careful to verify every single modifer I might get from an eldrich tower isnt affecting my cwdt loop. This doesn't break outside of the boss's room at all, so it's something specifically in the boss's room or something the boss is doing.
Surely, this is a bug? bugid 2,291,396,326 This may be the bug getting triggered: As the mobs around the boss die, player outgoing damage reduction is reduced. This includes self-damaging abilities like Forbidden Rite. If the player is then using a CWDT self-damage build, this breaks the player's build. This should only affect incoming damage to the boss (the owner of the Soul Eater buff). From the wiki: ### In addition to attack speed, cast speed and increased character size , nemesis version of Soul Eater buff on monster, gain Grants 5% increased Damage Reduction to aura owner on death (Hidden).[3] This means killing a pack of monsters around the pack leader that has Soul Eater nemesis mod/aura/buff, will make the monster with Soul Eater to have damage reduction. Due to game balancing, this damage reduction buff, however, did not apply to the player character who has Soul Eater.[4] Witch of the Cauldron, map version Alira, uses its unique version of Soul Eater Soul Eater . Unfortunately, some of my older character names made it possible to locate me elsewhere on the internet. I had to make my profile private some time ago because I was getting harassed elsewhere, due to this.
The loop itself isn't a problem or it would ALSO stop working outside of the boss room (as well as in several other areas). It is so frustrating not being able to see all the details of what auras/modifiers are present on a character. Anyway, digging through it looks like this mod might exist as a part of soul eater: (Hidden) Grants 5% increased Damage Reduction to aura owner on death It's a stretch and maybe the wording of the mod here is weird? Perhaps what could be happening here is: I'm killing tiny adds in front of the boss, they are dropping a damage reducing aura on death, which then reduces the self-damage to myself, thereby breaking my cwdt build. I should be able to counter this by adding something to increase the damage I take to myself. I should be able to test this a few more times later both with and without the potential counter. Yet another unpaid Path of Exile 2 Alpha Tester.

I don't think you understand: The loop works EVERYWHERE ELSE but in the boss arena. Even in the same map, when just outside of the boss arena. So what mods would the boss or minions have that could cause this?
Is the boss performing a leech ability, that might cause mana to rapidly deplete, thereby causing the CWDT loop to fail to trigger because of insufficient mana? No, I am not using MoM in my build, to prevent such a scenario. -- At any rate, while trying to self-debug here I have detailed another bug. When zoning, flask buffs get messed up. In this case: the buff from one flask is totally removed yet the flask is still counting down it's duration, visible on the flask bar. The trigger enchanted on the flask then fails to apply the flask buff on the next trigger but consumes the flask charges and continues to show a duration of the flask on the flask bar. This seems to be specific to the Kiara's determination flask. I have a CWDT ward loop build, and on entering the boss arena for Burial Chambers, I cannot start my loop sometimes. I have the same issue.
For all other boss areas, I have no issues. I've tested with curse/silence immunity, and it continues to happen. So it's not a curse the boss is inflicting. |
