Remove Grasping Vines

Grasping vines does not serve a relevant purpose in current PoE. Other forms of CC, such as chill, freeze, stun, etc. all have ways to circumvent them (i.e. don't get hit or have immunities/reduction) while grasping vines has none of these. Also, the CC bloat in this game is getting ridiculous. It's getting to the point where, unless you go juggernaut w/ unstoppable, the game randomly takes away your controller for 1-2 seconds because... why again? It just feels terrible.

Some points I think are relevant
1. Grasping vines is applied when YOU hit an enemy. While I can try to avoid projectiles, AoEs, etc. it is impossible to avoid hitting one rare in a cluster of enemies, especially with AoE builds (which most builds are nowadays).

2. Grasping vines punishes certain builds more than others. With a spellcaster I can use flame-dash to instantly get rid of the vines, problem solved. On cyclone w/ leap slam I can't. I need to either socket some type of teleport, or just concede that I wont be able to move for several seconds.

3. This isn't a good way to make the game slower. Losing control of your character never feels fun. It's even worse when this mechanic is unavoidable or difficult/irritating to get rid of. Player agency is huge in any videogame, especially PoE. Taking that away and saying "just deal with it and stop auto-piloting!" is not healthy for the game, and definitely not what most players want.

4.Grasping vines adds to the already overloaded CC bloat in PoE. Chill, freeze, stun, temp chains, sludge enemies, chilled ground, deli hands, etc. There's just way too much to keep track of and build around. I get you don't want players to completely zone out while clearing, but as stated in the previous point, this isn't a good way to accomplish that as we have very little (to no depending on build) agency against this mechanic.

5. Grasping vines' problem is compounded by strong monsters. The cycle goes something like this... clear through a pack, realize one enemy had grasping vines, next mob of 5-10 enemies begins shooting at you --> dead. This isn't fun. It's already bad enough that random one-shots are expected on even some of the tankiest builds. Adding heavy, unavoidable CC not only makes this worse, but is more irritating than anything.

6. It's not satisfying to "escape" or successfully deal with grasping vines. It's not like cleansing a slow, avoiding a telegraphed hit, or defeating a tough boss. It feels like a chore; a pointless extra task added on to mapping to artificially raise difficulty. In other words, a bandaid.

To close, I think it's important GGG recognize they've made mistakes with modifiers in the past. Remember phylacteral link, old volatile flameblood, and random reflect enemies? I'm sure GGG has justified these modifiers in the past. I think the same is happening now. No person or company is immune to human error. I and a bunch of the PoE community seem to agree that grasping vines is one of those errors. Please consider altering it, heavily decreasing its frequency, or just straight up removing it (which is probably best).

Grasping Vines + Foul Ritual + Lightning Mirages/Volatile Dead
Felt like posting this for  more visibility. I legit quit playing this league because of Grasping Vines. Made several posts about it, it caused 30-40 deaths and I was just over it, so I quit. Hopefully GGG can listen to the players on this one, but until it's at the very LEAST adjusted - I won't be returning to this game or supporting it. It is game breaking to me.

Where are people seeing this so severe? Ive completed every boss/map there is and you make it sound like its on you the moment you load up the game.

You even put the solution in the problem you listed.

Get a dash skill + dont stand still = grasping vines is a non-mechanic. Most the time you dont even need to dash, legit just keep moving and they dissipate.

You could literally complain about freeze/bleed/curse with the same silly talking points you listed.

And the best part about grasping vines is you dont have to buy anything or trait anything just move around and it goes away

The only time ive seen grasping vines to any severity is treant horde from the mechanic. Other than that, it rarely shows up and if it does I dont even see it happen.
