The "crafting" system makes me not want to play anymore

Dear GGG,

this system of roulette-gambling rolling for mods on an item is simply tedious and annoying. It makes me not want to play anymore. It tires me out and I CAN`T TAKE IT anymore. It drives me insane.

I threw over 400 exalted on my item and I keep on failing 50/50 annuls, 50/50 t4 aisling removals, 50/50 veiled prefix or suffix additions and 50/50 unveils for the desired stat. This level of random-bullshit to artificially keep people playing is UNREAL. It´s TERRIBLE.

Like, who thinks it is actually fun and engaging gameplay when you have to leftclick a hundred times only to get a chance at an annul, fail it, then leftclick another 100 times for another chance at an annul.

I just reached my end. I can´t do it anymore. It´s so fucking terrible. Like, I wanna play PoE but when I open my stash there sits this unfinished craft and just looking at it makes me just want to shut off the game and not engage with this horseshit again. It is SUCH a garbage system.

This system is so fucking shit it doesn´t even deserve the name crafting. And it´s NOT FUN! I am serious, it drives me crazy. Staring at my wall is more fun than "crafting" an item in PoE.

Fuck your crafting. And fuck your vision. You HAD crafting in the game, but it showed that there is no actual depth left when you can actually complete items with some reasonable effort, so you had to water it down again to the current level of crap.

And the worst part is, that when you can actually USE metacrafting it is still fun. So better nerf that as well. Heard that, GGG? There is still fun in the game. Remove it.
Hold on to yer shite load o´ bloody barnacles on me arse-cockles, me hearty!

in the real world, the government issues currency it owns (cause it owns the central bank) and spends it to aquire services from people working for them and gets it back by raising taxes to maintain a level of currency in the privat sector that doesn't cause inflation.

games do work under the same principle.

the game drops currency and to avoid item price inflation it needs to get back the currency from the "player sector".
the only means similar to taxes are the fees you pay for endgame map mods, but they're not really enforcing you to craft to destroy that currency.

it's the achilles heel of poe's game design that ggg only relies on crafters to consume endgame currency, if there were other sources they could make crafting easier.

trust me i know how you feel...

once i start losing currency because of bad crafting system, i start flipping so that i can sustain till items done. poor casuals selling their stuff cheap falling for price fixing also (not me tho)... well dont blame me, i just wanna finish my item. u guys can blame ggg

i, like many others, will continue making casuals life sad.

do not misunderstand, this game was a-ok once, only made miserable over time. streamers, veterans wont suffer so much, when league's no good, casuals are always the one to suffer the most (even when you try to nerf top 5%.. casuals suffer)

`Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL
`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL

sorry to ask, but when do you think casuals "do suffer"?

if there is content they can't reach anymore?
if there is new content they can't access with their average builds?

(first one is a setback, the second one the normal game behaviour.)

--

and, in this regard, when has the game ever "been ok"?

ggg's harvest fuckup where they allowed casuals to walk into endgame with item crafting being trivialised?

While i agree that harder content is not for casual players to get in unless they become better at understanding the game, there is some things that GGG does that should not have been done :

1/ "Setbacks" : where some builds become completely useless and need to start from scratch. That's probably a little more than a setback

2/ GGG persisting in thinking that players that gain access to very late endgame will finish the game and quit

3/ GGG thinking that not being able to finish your character will make you play more

4/ GGG balancing the game / creaing game mechanics in a way that promotes speed and kill all slow builds in the egg

5/ GGG still adding layers of RNG on top of layers of RNG
Path of Exile is a Casino for gambling addicts.
Gambling is not fun nor a game mechanic...
some of the best gear i have are all thanks to harvest BACK during harvest league.

the new influence introduced if my guess is correct, was made to make "older crafting" obsolete.

it is much more easier to craft powerful gear albeit on the new influenced items.

that said, i will say this. i have been playing since open beta. i have only slammed an exalt 2-3 times in my life. all of them were shit.

i have learned to instead hoard exas and buy gear from other people.

there's a reason why people buy mirror services. theres a reason why mirrors are so expensive.

crafting now, has already been made much more easier than back when poe first started. sure we no longer have access to eternal orbs and "old harvest" (old harvest should actually be forgotten- it was a mistake for GGG to even introduce it). but right now we have so many options. we even have synthesized and fractured items.

i would say, all in all, you need to temper your expectactions. crafting in POE is a game for the rich.

they pay the price because they can't price stuff in that sense.

to make similar examples: i came across 2 players who got rich by having lucky drops

the first dropped mirror in heist, which he sold for ex to buy mb. having listed my corrupted 2flask mb in mirror, he paid an additional 50ex.

the second dropped mb, bought something else from me and bragged about his mb. this is just a few days ago. he sold his mb for 340ex instead of 400-500ex, simply because he said it had 2 flasks. (he could just divine it).

casuals cant price stuff often. happens all the time, every league.

`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL

I think crafting in poe is awful. Truly awful and need to be reworked
I apologize for the language. Not the expressed sentiment, but for the language.

I was so incredibly angry when I wrote the post that I just let my rage guide me. I am still frustrated, but I can see that I may have gone overboard.

So there you go. Sorry.
