Bad business model?

I am not faulting GGG for their business model of cosmetics. Nor do I fault them for the stash tabs since if you play a bit, it is a small price to pay.

No, what I am here to talk to you about today is their merchandise store or lack thereof.

I will buy PoE plushies the instant they show up in the merchandise store. Assuming the price is even remotely within reason.

i once tried to send a european friend of mine a good bottle of roaring meg from new zealand. the fees for the parcel were higher than the price of the bottle.

so i would like to buy merchandising from poe and before they went "full china", nz did produce really good thsirts. i still got some at home. if anything i would support their country, not mexico (junx) or china.

come on man, tencent hasnt interfered with GGG international since "forever"?

sure tencent may be a scummy company but have some faith with the agreed terms between GGG and tencent.

heck, at this rate there are features in POE China client that i would want.

such as automated trading and pets that pick currency for players.

sins daughter is a 10 10 pet. even shouts out currency names as they drop.

also if youre saying full china in the sense of "china products are shit" the reason why people believe that is because a lot of retailers source their goods from china and keep negotiating for cheaper products. china manufacturers be like, you want cheaper? no problem, we'll replace this material with another one which is inferior. this process keeps going on till an item is dirt cheap but absolute crap.

china is also one of apple's main suppliers. they can produce really good quality products.

What, afraid of the CoC hammer if you mention that shipping and manufacturing has gone to pot due to various world events the past few years? I should hope not. PoE merch was kind of sketchy BEFORE all that. I have a drawer full of fairly low thread count t-shirts as proof.

As for manufacturing in NZ, that might work for a *very* small scale operation but GGG absolutely needed to tap a larger resource like j!nx to meet global demands.

I dunno, I appreciate the sentiment but a little critical thinking should make clear why now is probably the most logical time for GGG to put much energy to any sort of physical merch, let alone labour-intensive stuff like higher quality plushies.

And if not now, when? Yeah, ask me next year because right now that seems like a thousand years away in terms of predictability.
