Sunder, Warcries and "Exerted" Attacks.

So, I was levelling up my enforcer using Sunder as my main attack and source of damage. While reading guides and posts on the forums, I have encountered a suggestion to use warcries with my build, and, specifically, the Seismic Cry.

Ok, so I got the gem, equipped it into a free slot on an item, made sure I can see it on my skill bar, and went out to the world to try it out. However, after I did try using it a few times, I noticed a couple of things I do not understand.

First, whenever I try activating the skill, number 5 appears over the skill's icon on the skill bar. Here is the first thing I do not understand: the description says "Exerts the next 4 Melee Slam Attacks you perform".
Leaving alone the weird use of the word 'exert' here, let's note that it says '4'. Four. Not 5. I have checked my passive tree, and could not find any nodes that could increase the number of 'exerted' attacks. I am pretty sure that I could miss something, though, and would be very grateful if someone could clarify this for me.

And the second, and much more important thing I do not understand is that whenever I try using Sunder AFTER having performed the Seismic Cry, I do not notice any effect on it. Nothing seems to happen, and the number 5 does not decrease. I have read the description on the gem again. It says "Exerts the next 4 Melee Slam Attacks". Now, if we look at a Sunder gem, its description shows that is both a Slam attack and a Melee attack, so it seems to meet the conditions of Seismic Cry. But, as I have already mentioned, it does not seem to be affected by the Cry and the number over the Seismic Cry's key on the toolbar does not decrease. Why?
Just for the testing purposes, I tried to use Leap Slam after the Cry. It is also a slam melee attack - and it seem to interect with the Cry like it is suppoed to, at least the numbers do decrease with each subsequent use of the Leap Slam. But not with Sunder.

Again, for testing purposes, I replaced the Seismic Cry gem with Intimidating Cry, and tried using that one. Same story, except that the numbers are different (3 instead of 5). And again, whenever I use Sunder after the Cry, nothing seems to happen, and the number does not decrease. And when I use Leap Slam, the number does decrease.

Something seems to be wrong, but I am not sure what exactly. Is it a bug, or is it an error somewhere in the skills' description, or is there something wrong with my setup that prevents me from using the skills???

Do you have sunder linked to Multistrike support?

If so, then thats the problem as attacked suported by it cant be exerted.

Yes, I do have Multistrike linked to Sunder, so I guess that must be the reason. Thank you. It would be nice though if the description of Multistrike mentioned something about that.
