How Is Dex-Stacking Doing These Days?

Never tried it yet, but I know in the past it was all the fad.

Now I see people say it's been severely nerfed and not worth it anymore? There's still the Shaper/Hunter mod and Projectile Mastery which came in last league.
Not sure what else I'm missing or if the above influence mod was in fact gutted?

All the rage now appears to be flat ele or full phys bows with buffs to both of those this league.

Dex stacking? Well, just google "Crystallized Omniscience". The whole stacking META has been changed.

Other than that, I can mention that in some cases, Hollow Palm Technique has been buffed too, as a certain new keystone is doing wonders for some iterations of the build.

Needless to say, you can still roflstomp the game with dex stacking.

Oh yes, I know all about Omni but I've yet to try it and honestly not sure I even want to. I tend to stay away from anything FOTM or OP as I don't want to get attached to it then end up missing it. It's definitely a cool amulet and I hope GGG doesn't nerf it into the ground to point where it's not good at all.

Well the best variant of dex-stacking are the siege ballista variants, those are actually still crushing endgame bosses in a matter of seconds, very high dps, decent defenses, kind of awkward mapping. And they are also quite cheap for attribute-stacking compared to strength or int.

Mapping just using ballistas sounds awful. I usually use a 2nd 6l or 4l to help on bosses but straight up run and stop to place totem then run again seems way clunky. I know current EA ballistas are great but I couldn't do it.

Was thinking something like Ice Shot or other cold-converted skill to make use of the Hunter/Shaper mod.

Its not that clunky your clear pattern is just backwards rather than forwards (you drop totems and move on and they clear where you were)

the ranged totems placement time is pretty absurd its like 0.1s so they actually clear fairly respectably.

but it isn't to everyones taste i'll give you that, I league started as tri ele shrapnel ballistas deadeye and it was a perfectly legitimate choice was quite happy with it.

Is that just using one 6L ballista as main skill only? I know current EA does that which is weird to believe they're both that powerful apparently.

Whenever I make bow chars I usually have to use another 6L totem setup just to help on bosses, on top of my main 6L. That's extremely gem-hungry however.

i think the real problem here is that flat ele and phys bows got a significant buff this league, while the dex stacking mod is left untouched. sure your dex stacking bow will be a bit better due to the flat cold you want on it also being buffed, but compared to doing triple flat ele or pure phys it is left behind a bit. furthermore omniscience is an extremely powerful item if used right, which further boosts the non dex stacking builds

pretty sure you can still play it, but its gonna be way harder to reach a good level than other more straight forward bow builds

im talking about cold dex stacking here, ballista stackers probably dont care about any of this

Yes. With proper gear you have like 20 ballistas, each doing 1-2M dps.
