Flashing artifacts since 3.17.2
Hello!
I initially opened this in technical support, but it's also a bug and I also have a bug report open now, so I thought here might be the actual place to post it. Since the latest patch, I have constant flashing artifacts. Other games don't have this problem, heck, not even PoE has it everywhere: This never happens in any hideout I have (cartographer, luxurious, lush, divided, skeletal, battle-scarred, undercity) and I don't think I've seen it happen in any town (I'm this close [] to sure) or the menagerie & its depths; otherwise it happens virtually everywhere (maps-but not in exarch's, delve, labs-but not in aspirant's plaza). Sadly, this happens on multiple hardware combinations (running windows 10): - z690, 12600K, 16 ddr5, GTX 1070 or RTX 3060 TI - b250, 6700, 16 ddr4 (tried 2 brands), GTX 1070 or RTX 3060 TI - both on vulkan and dx11 No matter the hardware or graphical settings, or if I have any MTX on or not, it behaves exactly the same. Even tried in Standard, same thing. Tried with no launch options, but also with these: --waitforpreload --noasync -gc 2 --softwareaudio --nologo --nodx9ex Prior to this patch this wasn't happening. Deleting the shaders cache had no effect. Checking game integrity from Steam or reinstalling the game didn't fix it. Reinstalling GPU drivers didn't fix it. Clearing the config file didn't fix it. Basically nothing in the technical support guide and many other things fixed it. Link to a video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4zl690fgnxvkzny/artifact.mp4?dl=0 Slowmo, if it matters: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8vepuwlp3ywpbtp/artifact_slowmo.mp4?dl=0 Quality of vids is rather poor because Dropbox, but they're understandable. As you can also see, the hardware state is good (cpu and gpu clocks, memory load, no spikes, no overvolting, no errors). Most of the flashes are full-screen, like this one and they even happen while standing still, while nothing is happening on screen (besides environment animations, like monolith spiral thingies). Later update: - if a map has no mobs alive, the issue doesn't seem to reproduce - the issue appears to not reproduce near some mobs (can't say which, obviously) either - as soon as mobs are nearby (can't define what nearby means), the issue appears pretty quickly Tested the non-appearance of the issue by running around empty areas for several minutes. I know that's not a real proof, but when mobs are nearby, flashes start appearing within 20-30 seconds. Bug report 3.121.498.971 Later edit: pure coincidence, happens on empty maps as well, especially at expedition sites.
