What is the motivation for farming maps when flipping earns much more chaos per hour
" I am not a streamer, everyone is playing the new action hardcore game that just came out but my graphics card cannot play, I assume I am going to have a hard time playing the other big mmorpgs top ranked in steamdb too. Path of exile is the lowest specification game I can play, I wanted to do something instead of staring at youtube WW3 and UFOs, I should probably find some other hobbies which is probably back to youtube. |
|
" This is exactly what you should do (go engage with some other hobbies), there are other low spec games out there you can enjoy go find shit on GoG loads of oldies will run on a potato by modern standards. If you enjoy watching youtube that's already better than trying to motivate yourself to earn more currency/hr for a game you don't even want to play. |

I like to kill things.
"The launch day went quite well with just a few small hotfixes to address minor problems."

Flipping usually entails sniping items from uneducated players which makes you a douchebag. Farming stuff and adding to the economy is a good thing. There you go.

Fun, actually playing the game. I only play SSF, but even if I played on trade, I'd only do it if I absolutely must (like hitting a wall). I came here to play an ARPG not a trading simulator.

" In my early beginnings, I surveyed my customers, "Heck, I am buying/selling you more than expensive than the normal.". Nobody declined my trade, they even responded, "You are always online.", "The cheap ones on the marketplace never respond.", "I know.", "Time is money." So I started flipping harder, which I guess kills the experience of POE. If I didn't flipped in the place, I might love to keep playing and farm my already bought equipments right now. |

" Simple: I like playing the game. Why the hell should I stay in my hideout, flipping items? What's the goal there? To earn? Sure, but why? To make another character that stays in his hideout, flipping? Sure, this game is built around an economy, but the economy will always be a means to an end - not the main game. The game will always be about killing monsters and making/progressing your character. If that's not fun for you, I'm not quite sure what you are doing here, instead of playing some stock exchange simulator. Shouldn't require that much of your computer. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Mar 8, 2022, 8:12:15 PM

I've done my share of hideout warrior. I keep it balanced.
My group trader did a full league of just trading and he got done with game right after. A prophecy seller last league did a full month of rolling proph, made few mirrors, bought his fancy gear, got 40/40, and done. It's boring. Why even play this game. However, having said that, you might find this game more entertaining providing services to others in need while earning. Or, group play, and drop fancy mb/squires/hh. Being admirably strong is better than having all currency. Having both is better. If that isn't satisfactory enough an answer, your bigger question might be "whats the meaning of life" `Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL
`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL `What are divs?` |

If you really like flipping why not apply that skill to the stock market and make real money? You could buy POE, lol.

" My family, siblings, cousins, friends and country all loss money in the end on stock marketing. Luckily for me, I do not have money to buy stocks. Granted I could eat bread 5 times a week, not 7 times as google says vitamin deficiencies and so on. And I would get $300 to invest each month. This is a very low sum of money, so will my profits be more than the stock market service fee, tax fee? Also, the stock market is much more challenging with many other flippers than in POE, it is like I am a big fish in a small pond going out to sea, still thinking I am the biggest fish. I have actually never heard a person real life earning some money in stock marketing or investment, but then again, why would they tell me, they would just get another stock market competitor. But of course, I could always start small, If I start with 1 year of savings for investment that would be $3600, but I will not put in any more dollars than that, if that $3600 grows, I will use it and reinvest it, otherwise, say goodbye to investment. So yes, now I am thinking of investment, but investment is a one day out of a month thing, it is not interactive enough to kill my boredom, so it does not really solves my problem of getting old and tired of games. |
