What is the motivation for farming maps when flipping earns much more chaos per hour

I did not played for some time, but now I have returned.
Only to realized why I left POE, buying and selling items is netting me so much chaos that I do not need to waste time going into maps and killing monsters, but after a week of trading, I start to question my existence, what am I doing? I really want to just kill monsters but it seems so lacking in terms of rewards. What is the motivation for mapping for you guys? Last bumped on Mar 11, 2022, 12:58:56 PM

maps are supposed to be "fun" and the flippers i know enjoy the flipping so if you dont enjoy either then hmmm...

" I do not need chaos for anything, I am just using the chaos as my motivation for playing. POE is too complicated, my build is raider multiple ignite which they removed the multiple ignite, the crafting is so complicated, even if I want to buy something I do not know what to buy. And considering I can one hit kill/ignite rare maps even after they removed my multiple ignite, I do not see the point of buying anything. The only thing I cannot kill was some sort of final boss thingy which AOE literally everywhere on the map, as a glass cannon character, I would rather just skip this final boss that shoots lasers out of his asset. |

The great thing about poe is there are limitless ways to enjoy the game. If you enjoy flipping then have at it- I know people who make mirrors doing it. Personally I get so bored after a few minutes that I'd rather make out with a blender.

probably say something mindblowing :O but its fun :O same reason i play standard over league, since i jsut enjoy it more... if you played long enough currency gain isnt the major driving factor, its more like what endgame you enjoy annd you just chain farm that for as long as you like :) currently i play expedition in maps + logbooks, is it most profit way of play? lol no, but its currently quite enjoyble for me sicne i never engaged with the content befor :) 30 Shores with Double Pack / Breach / Max Sextants https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2006424/page/1

Motivation doesn't come from the game... it comes from you. If you're not motivated by mapping, you're not alone. There are literally over 7.7 billion people on this planet not mapping. They have better things to do. They have other motivations. There's nothing wrong with them. There's nothing wrong with you. Finding stuff you enjoy doing is something they stopped teaching kids about 20 years ago when parents invented the "play-date" and planned every activity for their kids to keep them from getting bored.

OP you need to quit, don't force yourself to play a game you don't really want to play. I read your post and mentally facepalmed that you can even unironically ask the question :p Unless your a streamer i'd hazard that PoE is a recreational activity don't forget it, go do something you actually want to do. |

Most games these days are skinner boxes but at least have the self awareness to not deliberately play one you don't like just for the "rewards".
