Purpose of Lifetap reservation multiplier
Hi all, I've had a look around but struggled to find a definitive answer to this.
I was wondering why the Lifetap support gem applies a 300% reservation multiplier to supported aura skills. As far as I am aware Lifetap is intended to work solely with skills that have a flat cost, and doesn't have any effect on aura/reservation skills, but it still applies the 300% reservation modifier to them. My best guess would be that there isn't a separate 'cost multiplier' for adjusting the flat cost of supported skills, and instead the 'reservation multiplier' is what is being used for that, which has the unintended consequence that it also gets picked up and applied to aura skills. Does anyone know if there is any actual balance reason why this might be intentional or desired behaviour? Or is it just a bug? Last bumped on Mar 4, 2022, 8:40:19 PM

you can add Lifetap buff to any skill , so that even herald or Death Aura are somewhat benefited from lifetap. While the increased mana cost. Some people think worth it, some think it is not

Ah I see, I wondered about the actual lifetap buff but couldn't off the top of my head think of any auras it would benefit.
Seems a bit unintuitive in that it sort of blurs the lines between lifetap and arrogances roles in supporting skills an auras respectively, but I can see why the multiplier would be deliberate in that case. Thanks for the clarification! |
