For real tho, Carpal Tunnel is the POE killer

It burns us, it freezes us.

This might be the first thread about POE killer that's at least partially true :)
Thanks for all the fish!

Amen.

In the end though this means that POE is the POE killer, cause i never had problems with my hand/arms before i started playing POE :)
Self-care is very important in this hobby. Read up on it. Learn about it. Most importantly, follow the advice of experts.
Here's a short video to help with your wrist. It's specifically targeted at PoE players (4 mins) - https://youtu.be/X273312uINo
i never get strain issues with arpgs. i used to a lot with first person shooters.

my 2 tactics, first most important imo, i dont use left click for force move. that right away is just asking for disaster. i have force move on a keyboard key and a skill on mouse 1.

now, everyone has what they are used to and what they prefer. im gonna argue that preferences aside, and preferences can make sub optimal setups the preferred setup so you do you, but i think objectively force move on your keyboard with a skill on mouse 1 is a better control method. its better for your mouse hand/arm and its better for your mouse, which is almost certainly more expensive and fragile than your keyboard which takes far less of a beating from holding down a move key.

second, i have my forearms back to my elbows down on the desk when i play. i dont float my arms, not even my mouse arm which for a lot of first person shooter specialists would be a thing, a floating mouse arm with ultra low sensitivity for maximum aim precision. but that is an arm killer, bit higher on the sensitivity, keyboard more forward on the desk with either chair arms at the height of the table or a curved table that wraps around you allowing you elbow down to your wrist to be resting on the table. imo that massively helps remove tension from that whole side of your body.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
Man, this one just clicks with me.

Teehee.

OTOH it wasn't the mouse and keyboard that made gaming RSI infamous: it was simple controllers and equally simple games from the 70s and 80s: Nintendo Thumb.

Fun fact: my mother was actually diagnosed with this by her GP back in the early 90s (we were both impressed a GP knew the term), and she hasn't really touched platformers since. Equally fun fact: she asked for a RingFit for Mother's Day for her Switch last year, and lasted about ten minutes. :)
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
Thanks for the replies.

I did practice correct position for sitting and exercise but I think there is no running away from it. 1h of poe now really stirs up trouble.

What i never tried is the movement bind to keyboard. Perhaps ill give that a go.

Pain in the middle of the palm really gets in the way of a good time :D
I had carpal tunnel but it disappeared when I played Lost Ark a couple of weeks ago. The Lost Ark campaign is just pressing "G" over and over so my right hand got a rest. Plus I had a pet that picked everything up for me.

The fact that you have to click on the link to see the video is cruelty at its finest. I love it.
