Reflecting Punishment hex causes you to take overkill damage

I'm not sure if this is intended, so I decided to report it.

I am using Soul of Yugul which has '50% chance to reflect Hexes' and I am playing the map Maelstrom of Chaos where monsters apply random Hex on hit. When monster applies Punishment to me on hit and this Punishment gets reflected to the monster (via Yugul pantheon), I one-shot myself because the game treats me as the enemy for that overkill damage. Is this intended? When I self-cast Punishment on the enemy this overkill damage affects other enemies instead.

Same exact thing just happened to me. Got the punishment on hit from an eater altar and killed myself 3 times in the same map. Very annoying bug

I think this happened to me some time ago when i was doing excavation, i was also using Yugul soul, i was thinking it was culling strike on monsters since i run lowlife and something similar happened on hall of the grandmasters, but now it makes more sense since i did not get hit on map, i died when my enemies exploded from "Profane Bloom".
