Could use some advice for improving my marauder

Heya

I play since some sessions this build:
https://www.poe-vault.com/guides/molten-strike-juggernaut-build-guide

It makes pretty fun, but I feel like stuck somehow. I don't have everything for this build, the rng is killing a bit the fun of the game.
And maps like Wastelands are for me impossible - the endboss, he is so quick healing and has no interest in getting kited, that I just slam for hours against this guy. He can't kill me, only I'm unlucky, but it spoils still the fun.

Have you guys any idea how I could improve my items?
Crafting in POE is for me a sealed book, because of the rng and how to do it, it's like I need first a 3 year study and a Bachelor degree to do it :/
So when I should craft something, please explain it very simple ^^

I'm happy with my gems, my skills and want prefer to keep it like that.

Thank you!

How much currency do you have?

Here are some things I recommend if you can afford it:

1) Take the Mastery point at Lava Lash and choose "40% phys converted to fire." This will give you full fire conversion (you will see a huge damage jump just from this).

2) Awakened Fire Penetration support (this is like 20c in standard).

3) A 6-linked body armour. I would get a corrupt one with the colors you need and some good life/res on it if you can't afford a non-corrupt one.

4) Craft some life on your amulet with the crafting bench. There's no RNG here and it only costs 2 alchemys.

Your tree is really bad but since you prefer to keep your tree as is, I won't comment further on it.

you need a weapon.

your cluster jewel is your only damage nodes, but they are for mace.

your current mace has 300 dps.

in standard, you can buy a 360+ dps mace for 20c

but yea, your passive tree is a terrible mess, and if that's actually what the build guide recommended, you should look for a new one.

The comments on that guides are from 2019, and the PoB that's on the site is from patch 3.15.

You're sure this guide is up to date? I loaded it in Path of Building, and it's weak. It's just 1m Ignite DPS at level 100 with all the bells and giggles.

Have you checked other builds here in the build section? Maybe you can migrate or work something out.

If you want to respect and you're short on orb of regret hit me up when I'm online, I'll give you a couple hundred for free.

You'd be surprised how many ppl just slap the 3.17 in title and don't actually update the guide

I believe they just just slapped a date/patch update on the guide and that's it. Lots of guide you can find online on youtube and other websites are just clickbait junk, if you want a decent working build have a look at the build section of this forum.

The link with the build they offer on the site, the thing you open with PoB to plan your build offline/offgame, still has the old Passive tree from 3.15. They changed lots of things on the tree at 3.16, and they changed lots of skills last two patch. lots of gems or combo that were viable 2~3 patch ago aren't anymore.

First of all, I want to thank you all for your time and answers!
I really appreciate your efforts! <3

I want to correct my starting thought into: Yes please, talent tree ideas are welcome, too.

I found in the forums this guide:
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2211489

What do you think about the talent tree there?

I enjoy playing my Vaal Molten Shell + Molten Strike skills, the additions of Herald of Ash and Herald of Purity are nice to have (but not mandatory) :)

I want to check for a better weapon, I stuck to my mace since months, because it has nice rolled values and an exchange was always a big dps drop. But I was just unlucky, I think ^^'' I take a look into this issue :)

I just got last week my Loreweaver Chest Armour and want to 6 link it, but I miss still the recipe, I'm into it to get is asap.

My stash currency looks like:
43 Regret
1 Regal
75 Alchemy
52 Chaos
4 Veiled Chaos
1 Divine
41 Vaal
19 Blessed
353 Jeweller
74 Fusing
373 Chromatic
1 Exalted

Again, thank you for all your comments <3

You shouldn't have anymore issues following a guide if it's from the build section of this forum. If you have any questions about the build don't hesitate to ask questions in the build thread.

I have no idea about Molten strike, I started as Ground Slam berseker, then when they nerfed Ground Slam to the ground at 3.15 I moved to shield crush. Not as fun to play as Ground Slam but less rippy, tho.

hit me up when I'm online I'll give you some regrets, I've got like 1600ish on standard. I usually play Standard too as I'm not a fan of redoing the same thing every 3 months.

Okay thanks :)

And yes, it makes sometimes fun to play a league, but after x leagues it's a bit... exhausting. I really want to force more energy to my main char and do finaly some progress to the late endgame.

I start now with some adjustments to my tree and so on, we'll see how it works :)
One more thing to add:

You are using way to many unique items.
Thats a classic beginner mistake in this game. Dont do it.
As a rule of thumb: If any given unique isnt mandatory or providing something you can do without then its not worth equipping.

Right now your elemental resistences are far from being capped at 75%.
Thats the first order of business you need to take care of. Replace all your unique items not providing a flat life or ele res roll asap with well rolled rare items.

The fastest and easiest way to cap ele res are rings.
Go to town, buy some white rings with ele res implicits and use alch orbs on them. If you hit a decent life roll (50+) and any decent ele res (30+) or two decent res rolls, thats a potential keeper.
Put that item into your crafting bench and check if can still craft life or res onto it and you should be able to cap your res fairly easily.

This is extremely important because the game is balanced around you having 75% ele res across the board. Meaning you´ll only take 25% of ele dmg dealt.
If your res is only at 50%, you will be taking twice the dmg. If its only 25% then you´ll be taking triple the dmg you are supposed to take.
This usually means death and 10% xp gone.

TL;DR:
Dont rely on uniques. Most of them are trash and you shouldnt use them at all.
