Crashing to desktop with engine multithreading on

Hi,
Bought a new PC a week ago and was experiencing crash over and over again with the nvidia driver crash error in event viewer:
"
Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

and in client logs :
"

I tried disabling engine multithreading and it solved all the crashes but my fps is very bad, getting around 110 fps in hideout, but it dips to 60-20 when doing juiced maps.

Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12600K (16 CPUs), ~3.7GHz
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
RAM: 32GB 3600MHz
SSD: Samsung SSD 980 1TB

My 3080 idles with engine multithreading disabled, is there a solution for this, or i'm doomed to play with bad fps?

Heyo,

That’s a Vulkan API error. (Is their implementation of that still flagged as beta in-game?)

See if it still happens when using DirectX. GGG have been using it for far longer and so it’s probably your best bet for stability. If the crashes persist regardless of API, it’s an issue with your PC.

Disabling Engine Multithreading will restrict the game’s ability to use your CPU’s resources, which is what causes it to ease off on the video card. While it may be tempting to pin an issue which appears and disappears based on one of the game’s settings on the game itself - and to be clear, PoE does have its issues - stability issues appearing only under heavy load are a telltale sign of hardware problems. Did you do any stress testing since getting the new PC?

(Just to be clear: I am fairly confident it’s a PoE issue which will go away when you switch to DX.)
Getting the same crashes with dx11, the message is
"

At first i also thought i have a faulty gpu, but i tried stress testing it with furmark for extended amounts of time and never had problems with it crasing except when trying oc settings.
And the game also crashes when enabling engine multithreading and limiting framerate with vsync, and when doing this the gpu also idles, so i don't think this is a load issue but i will gladly take advice if im wrong.

I had the same error as you, when I turned off Engine Multithreading, the game was fine but the fps was low and the machine was very hot.
Then I turn off Hyper-Threading in BIOS and it turned on Engine Multithreading during gaming, the fps increased and the temperature was better. However, I am still monitoring and will update more
