How to farm for chaos orbs and weapons?

Hey guys, I need some advice on what is the most efficient way to farm for chaos orbs and weapons?

I am level 64 and still struggling with getting chaos orbs to buy new gears. I am still on level 40+ gears and I am in need to get higher level gears to survive in mines and heist.

I am relatively new to this game and I appreciate y'all to share some tips with me! Cheers! :)

chaos recipe. a full set of gear to vendor gives 1 chaos. 2 if everything is unidentified.

My suggestion: Level up a new character. Something different and fun. You'll get more loot, and you can use your experience with your current character to help you build a new one.

You're only level 64 which isn't very high in the grand scheme of things. Most people have to level 3-4 characters before they can beat the main game.

Is there a more efficient way other than doing the chaos recipe? I watched some utube vids that were suggesting heist and mines but my gears kinda sucked.

Curious, till what level did you do the recipe? And what level items do you start selling?

A full set of gear (two rings, belt, amulet, body armour, boots, gloves, helmet, and either two weapons, one 2H weapon (including a bow but not a quiver) or a weapon and shield) needs to be level 60 for the Chaos recipe to work. Unidentified returns two orbs, and a complete, unidentified set at 20% quality returns 3. ='[.]'=

Check an easy starter build and farm low tier maps with good layout and easy league mechanics (blight is surprisingly easy with the right build). Way better than chaos recipe, you'll feel way more powerful too.

my advice would be dont pick any items up when you wanna go for chaos recipe its simply not worth it


run t1 maps till you can buy a tabula rasa or buy a cheap corrupted 6l with the right colors


chaos recipe is worth till around ~40c/1ex ratio after thats the time you spent is to high IMO

Run a less limited item filter at the start of the league. Vendor every rare that you find and can't use yourself after identifying them. Skip all magic items. You will get a ton of Orbs of Alteration. Trade them to someone for Chaos Orbs. Just got to act 6 and have gotten over 300 Alteration by this point. Will get even more faster as the rares get better and start trading for 3 to 5 Alts per inventory dump. Not to mention the chaos orbs that drop as you are doing this.

Chaos recipe is only level 60. Run blood aqueducts. Sell sets of rares. Profit.

people dog on chaos recipe but i always do it the first few days of league in order to get my character rolling. In the time you spent here asking you could have farmed the chaos recipe a couple times and converted the 4 chaos into new rings a belt and an amy and probably fixed your character to keep progressing while you do it some more to fix the next piece.

Its not the best way to make currency all league but until you can run high yellow maps and red maps its decent and if you manage to drop an ex or something while your doing it you can just immediately stop. Its a deterministic way to get your league start going.

My guess is every experienced person in this thread also knows 2-3 other ways to make easy currency but the thing is sharing my specific way to make currency then devalues it and part of PoE is finding a niche and exploiting it.

Chaos recipe is a first step in learning PoE.
