Constant crashing, can't run map for over 5 minutes
![]() Constant crashing for many reasons ( tested many many times ) - Searching gem name in Clarissa NPC Act 3 - Run Beacon map, and other several map - Just standing still in hideout - Open map with map device, crash after 1 min running it And whole bunch of other reasons that I don't bother to notice. Please help fix. Only happen in 3.17, play the game fine at 3.16 and 3.15, zero crash. Fix I've tried : ( and nothing work ) - Re-install the game after COMPLETELY uninstall and delete game's files and user profile. - Update NVIDIA Driver to latest - Run as Administrator, both normal and 64 bit client - Close everything else, only the game running. - Lowered Graphics Setting until lowest possible, switching between Fullscreen, Windowed, Windowed Full Screen, switch between DX11 and Vulkan ( Vulkan seems to crash faster, under 1 min running map ) PC Spec : - Ryzen 5600x - GTX 1080 - 16GB RAM - 256GB SSD ( installed the game on it ) Last edited by bak301#7665 on Feb 9, 2022, 7:18:54 AM Last bumped on Feb 10, 2022, 4:17:32 PM

" you sure your SSD is not running full suddenly. Very small for both OS and game files.... If you are using Vulcan, then texture have to be set to medium. |

" As I can see in your graph VRAM usage is not displayed, I guess you are using DX11. Switch to VULKAN and see your VRAM usage (it will show then). It might very well be that your VRAM are getting full and you crash. POE has one of very big problems that VRAM are often not FREED UP, they just continue to PILE UP and then you crash... If I don't for example occasionally restart POE, I eventually crash. Try switching to VULKAN or get some software to monitor your VRAM (PAY ATTENTION TO THE BAR AND IF IT COMPLETELY FILLS UP), you might be out of VRAM at some point and this is why you might crash. Also, VULKAN might be working better in general. ALSO, currently for A LOT of players POE's native ENGINE MULTITHREADING feature is very bugged. Try disabling it. Players experience horrible stutters and CPU problems after some 3.16 patch (some engine improvements). I'm one of them and when I disable multithreading in PoE's options I have no stuttering, my graph is fine although performance takes a hit. Well... at least it becomes playable :D Although, I don't see any stutters and in your case (screenshots) graph seems pretty fine but who knows, maybe it is somehow related. TRY combos like dx11 and disabled multithreading or switch to vulkan and also disable multithreading. And pay attention to ur VRAM bar. Good Luck! New mute system is terrible - no trade... " Yeah thanks, I've tried turn off multithreading option also, and switch to vulkan to look at vram usage but nope, still crash and VRAM usage is under 25%. |

Just wanna chime in and confirm that since today I have just straight crashing to desktop after 5-10min too.
Played from league start till yesterday without any crash - only 2 or 3 times it threw me back to login screen on the entire weekend. which usually happens on league start due to the servers being pushed. But since today I cannot play. Game just freezes for a couple seconds and then the client disappears. Running it via Proton on Linux (Manjaro). And no, nothing changed on my end other than the hotfixes the PoE client received. |

" it's not helpful to have a thread cluttered with mixed problems, running the game on linux is a totally different topic. did you look for problems in the game's logfile? offline

" maybe it's more helpful to restrict the game to 1 or 2 cores. you can do that in the taskmanager, right click on pathofexile.exe and choose "assign affinity". offline

Same problem here I am running with no multi-threading and Vulkan. My VRAM graph shows completely full. This only happened a few days after the start of the league.

I'm getting the same and the crashes (C++ error window) are getting more frequent.
I have tried uninstalling all versions of Windows C++ Redistributables and installed the latest 2015-2022 release from Microsoft's site. I have also validated the steam files, all to no avail. GGG, please look into this and resolve ASAP please. (Maybe rollback the hotfixes you released since launch, since the first couple of days were fine) Last edited by Clivos#6636 on Feb 10, 2022, 2:37:20 PM

OK ran in Standard League for 10-15 mins with multi-threading off and DX11 no problems but game was really choppy with only one core running. But Hey! No crash... going to try the same thing now in the Archi League and see what happens.
