Error while patching to 3.17

http://patchcdn.pathofexile.com/3.17.0.1/Bundles2/Art/Models/Pet/PeacockMale.bundle.bin and other related peacock pet files are not resolving when trying to patch to 3.17.
Another one I'm seeing: http://patchcdn.pathofexile.com/3.17.0.1/FMOD/Desktop/PetPeacock.bank These are failing with Error: Failure when receiving data from the peer while downloading These errors stop download progression entirely. I already tried deleting and redownloading fresh but no luck (I'm on PC standalone). If I hadn't deleted I would try the ggpk torrent, but that doesn't seem to be an option now. Could this possibly be a cert issue?
Visiting http://patchcdn.pathofexile.com/3.17.0.1/Bundles2/Art/Models/Pet/PeacockMale.bundle.bin doesn't resolve in browser at least due to lack of cert, and https doesn't seem available. Ok maybe not a cert issue. Spoke with others and they're receiving these few files just fine. Seems like the peer I'm trying to connect to is maybe using a port my router isn't configured for maybe? I don't have any special security in place, but looks like I need to look at opening some ports possibly.

Run Path of Exile as an administrator regardless of where you've installed the game.
If you've installed it via Steam (or any other content manager), STEAM (or the other content manager(s)) itself must be ran as an administrator. Last edited by bvanharjr#5617 on Feb 4, 2022, 12:53:12 PM

Ok resolved the issue. It likely was a port/connectivity issue liked I guessed. For anyone reading this, here's an alternative way to get the download to work.
GGG releases their ggpk files as a torrent. The 3.17 torrent can be found here: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3230371 I then downloaded a torrent client (completely separate from PoE) and downloaded the file. The torrent client added a firewall exception and also gave me access to peers outside of the official GGG one (and/or the one I was stumbling on). Once the ggpk file is downloaded, copy+paste it into your poe folder to overwrite the existing one. That should resolve the issue. |
