Logging in from new location

Up to now, it's been an inconvenience that I live with: get disconnected, reconnect, see the notification that I'm logging in from a new location, re-enter my password, get back into the game.

But now it appears that the account gets automatically locked every time I log in from 'a new location'. Even if I enter my password correctly, the account is locked and I have to go to my email, get the unlock code, add that into the unlock box, re-enter my password and get back in. Only to have the whole rigmarole repeat five minutes later when the connection drops again.

Is this entirely necessary? I could understand locking the account if multiple attempts were made to enter the password incorrectly. But even when I type it in correctly first go, the account gets locked. It's taken an already annoying but unavoidable admin function and made it three times as annoying. Can we not please revert to the previous system?
