Logging in from new location
Since the latest patch, I have noticed an annoying new security 'feature'. First, some background. I'm in Africa. Our fourth-world ADSL systems crash. Frequently. When this happens, the system shuffles users around, punts us onto another router and allows us to re-access the internet - just from a 'different location'.
This can result in 50 or more disconnections a day, and it is not unusual for me to suffer a dozen or more disconnections in a single PoE session. Up to now, it's been an inconvenience that I live with: get disconnected, reconnect, see the notification that I'm logging in from a new location, re-enter my password, get back into the game. But now it appears that the account gets automatically locked every time I log in from 'a new location'. Even if I enter my password correctly, the account is locked and I have to go to my email, get the unlock code, add that into the unlock box, re-enter my password and get back in. Only to have the whole rigmarole repeat five minutes later when the connection drops again. Is this entirely necessary? I could understand locking the account if multiple attempts were made to enter the password incorrectly. But even when I type it in correctly first go, the account gets locked. It's taken an already annoying but unavoidable admin function and made it three times as annoying. Can we not please revert to the previous system? Last bumped on Feb 4, 2022, 12:30:14 PM

" Yes this is one of the feutures in GGG's account securoty system --> When the system detects that you login from a new IP, it soft locks your account until 2FA is completed (the code from the e-mail). If you don't want this, you have 2 choices as I see it --> 1. E-mail GGG and ask them to disable this on your account = you account is much more easy to hack. 2. Use Steam with 2FA because then this shouldn't happend. |

Well, that was three hours of my life that I'll never get back.
