[3.18] The White Wind | Spectral Helix Raider
"The Maraketh fear little,
But they dare not whisper the name Of the demon that flies on winter's gales." ![]() THE WHITE WIND Cold Spectral Helix Raider Intro Hi Exiles, here is a build that I find easy and enjoyable to play. At first glance, it's small and cheap but its capabilities may surprise you more than once. My idea was to do a build around the White Wind dagger. This unique item costs between 1 and 10c so it's very affordable. When I began this build in 3.9, it was limited to yellow maps but now, I can tackle some endgame content like Shaper, Uber Atziri, Cortex etc. * Latest videos 3.18 Essential Guide 3.17 #1 : The Fledgling. - Only required unique is the very common White Wind dagger, so the build is league-start viable and SSF-friendly. - Easy 100% Spell Suppression (40% with Ascendancy, 30%+ with WW) - Easy chill/freeze - Upgradable into high DPS version with Brittle/Scorch - Easy and fun to play. - Versatile and safe style : launch your circling proj and then dodge while the DPS continues ! History of the build
Spoiler
- I've started this build in 3.9 with Frost Blades.
- I've changed to Lightning Strike in 3.14, to use the new Trinity support with cold/lightning dmg. - Then I've chosen Spectral Helix in 3.15 which for me is the funniest. - In 3.16, I've added Secrets of Suffering, which has tripled the DPS ! (at the cost of some life) ![]() Videos

Cool concept.
I wonder if a Blizzard Crown or The Fledgling would be a big upgrade over that helmet. 3 more sockets, more(?) added cold+rollable rare or Far Shot. Not sure about what those 10 cold res of the Blizzard Crown would mean as far as dmg goes. Have heard great things about Far Shot though.
Hi,
If I understand how the Fledgling works, you gain a lot of dmg at long range but deal no dmg at close range. So, not good for Helix IMO. As for a Blizzard Crown, I will check in PoB. Maybe one with "Nearby enemies have -9% cold res" would be good. Thx for the ideas. Hi,
Here is a new video to finish 3.16 : Spectral Dance A fight against Eradicator, followed by some farming, and then, the Twisted fight (4 Elder guardians). Hope you like it and see you in 3.17, Exiles ! (I'll post 3.17 links as soon as we have the PoB update.) " I think far shot only cares about how far the projectile has travelled. So since it travels in a spiral if you position correctly the helix will hit the enemy after travelling a full rotation which is enough to proc it
Ok, seems interesting, I will test the helmet then.

" " Hi guys, I want to thank you both for recommending me the Fledgling. It is actually an amazing unique. I have tested it : the clear feels very good and bosses can be destroyed quickly, if you position yourself strategically. Here is a demo video with it : the Vaal Temple bosses, then the Formed Maven's fight : #1 : The Fledgling Hope you like it, good luck and have fun :) My builds on the forum : The Nightblade Assassin | The Pestilent Viper Occultist | The Infused Trickster | The White Wind Raider | The Energy Blade "Jedi" Hierophant Last edited by rahsaan on Feb 14, 2022, 3:10:47 PM

The Fledgling can make your DPS unreliable at close range and/or in narrow spaces, like the boss arena from Port map. I had a hard time hitting the boss that behaves like a Russian doll, because there was so few room to throw the daggers.
So in some cases, it can be better to swap the Fledgling for another helmet. My choice was the unique Crown of the Tyrant, which has only one socket. So I've checked the Blizzard Crown. With only the implicit (+flat cold, enemies have +10% cold res), I get 7% less dmg than with the Crown of the Tyrant. A very expensive Blizzard Crown with "Enemies have -9% to fire res" would give ~3% less - or cold res if you don't Cold To Fire + Trinity supports. So it's worth using a white Blizzard Crown with just a Deafening Essence of Greed, to guarantee +100 life. Now you have a helmet that is slightly inferior to the Crown of the Tyrant but with 4 sockets. Hi Exiles,
I've updated the PoB link for 3.18. No changes compared to 3.17. Spectral Helix hits really hard. With a Brittle/Scorch setup, the dps can be really satisfying, especially considering we use a very cheap unique, the White Wind dagger. Here is a short demo for the build : The Essential Guide The aim is to explain the main mechanics of the build in a short format. The Essential Guides follow these rules : - Around 3mn long - A T16 map - With at least 90% quantity - A complete run from start to boss - No cut, no edit - Deathless I have a dozen of home-made builds, which you can follow on my YT channel and on the forum (signature). I intend to publish an Essential Guide for each of them. Good luck and have fun :) My builds on the forum : The Nightblade Assassin | The Pestilent Viper Occultist | The Infused Trickster | The White Wind Raider | The Energy Blade "Jedi" Hierophant
