Chronic overheating problem + bonus server gripe

I am having an odd issue with PoE, it seems similar to issues that New World had with newer architecture, due to sloppy coding. PoE doesn't tax my computer and by not tax it I mean the fans do not even bother to spin up unless I am doing something of note. They will turn on now on then on a very low RPM and drop the temperature from around 70c to 65c then turn off again, rinse and repeat. I normally do not hear the fans on my video card.

Granted, I have every setting on maximum, by my CPU usage usually hovers around 25-35% utilisation to get a FPS at 60 where I have it locked at both game setting and hardware setting.

The issue I have is sometimes when I zone, for some reason the power draw slowly climbs. Utilisation doesn't hit above 45% and the fps still hover at 60fps but the power draw keeps increasing. The only reason I knew this was happening was because I could hear my fans and after a while they were running at 100%, the game was pulling over 300 watts and the temps were pushing over 80 degrees.

I ran several tests, loaded in a character that is naked into standard and zoned to my hideout and just sitting there idling the same thing happened and just noticed the gradual power drain and rising temperatures across the entire video card whilst utilisation was low. This sounded similar to the problems New World had with high end graphic cards.

By comparison I have been in Lost Ark (Russian server) for over and hour and actually running around and killing stuff in that game and my CPU temperature is around 60 degrees, GPU utilisation is 35-40% and fans rarely turn on, I don't usually hear the fans in this game and it hasn't pulled in more than 108 watts whilst actively playing.

My GPU is an EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080ti
My CPU is an I9 9900K

Also, whilst here... I have had a lot of issues with the Australian server for a number of leagues now, I can literally hit the building the server is in with a 1 wood and my ping to it is 5ms and in the game I used to have single digit ping then it went up to 12, then 17 and it is now on 32 or whatever despite the ping to the server being single digit. This puts it in the range where lockstep can be a tad flakey and get the periodic massive lag spikes, it is just not a great experience.

By comparison, I am playing Lost Ark on a Russian server through a dollar dazzler non-gaming VPN with a ping of 330ms+ and it is silky smooth, not sure what is going on but the server quality has been shizenhousen.

Yeah Lost Ark has good graphics engine, played it like 2 weeks never had any problems, unlike in PoE.
i stopped at "due to sloppy coding".

any interesting coming after that?

and if you have me stop there you think any dev will read any further?

There are no devs reading the technical support forum, there is barely anyone employed in QA reading or responding to posts on this forum, most problems are issues on the user's front and nothing much they can do about it. I don't have any issues with any other game or software and this only seems to happen sometimes when I zone, so I don't think it is on my end. If it was on my end it would likely occur in something other than PoE.

I don't care if they respond or not, it is in their own best interest to fix problems which cause problems for their customers.

I value my video card more than I value the enjoyment of the game, if problems aren't fixed I will go play Lost Ark or something else which doesn't have the same problems. I'd prefer to play PoE but it is what it is.

Same here, I play a lot of games but have problems only in PoE.

Again, same here. I'M NOT GOING TO BUY new processor + motherboard + RAM just to play PoE.

And I nearly quit the game couple of days ago after 3.16.3 patch, cause it became unplayable for me due to bugs in code.

Luckily for me I was able to discover the way to circumvent the bug (disable hyper-threading) quickly enough.
