Honestly - I will never see these uniques anyways, since they will either cost 700ex, or have 0.0001% drop rate.

While I've heard the game has been lacking good chase uniques lately and this seems like an effort to solve it, I'm not sure I like the idea of chase uniques being designed by people who make a living by ignoring the vast majority of the game.

" I think you are selling them short tbh, they know the game and its mechanics extremely well and probably have some good thoughts as to what would be a fun addition. GGG aren't exactly stellar at unique design as it is, some are wonderful others are absolutely 1c as soon as they get revealed. I don't think the streamers will be any worse if anything I think the potentials better - does that mean they will be great uniques nope, but theres a chance. I can't see anything based around movespeed really its too late in the content to be particularly relevant without being on the nose how bad it is. |

I think GGG will be less strict when it gonna come to designing unique item from end game bosses so they will maybe let those winners design unique to be actually really broken becuz they dont really allow that usually one exception was skyforth no idea how that guy managed to talk GGG into releasing that unique as a core drop pool item so i hope the winners will design a really good chase uniques

Oh, cmon, you guys know how it works. When the boss is so RNG that streamers are likely to encounter atleast 0 of the 4bosses, he basically can´t drop items that would make the rest of the game too easy, if there is even a rest of the game after the endboss. And if those uniques are too rare to afford you basically spawn an army of complainers for the next couple of years. So the outcome will most likely be a slightly gamechanging item instead of a statstick preferably with alternative ways to achieve it. Best if it only worked for one very specialized build to reduce its price. Bonuspoints if the development of the item takes a long time as this chains the streamer to advertise PoE even longer. " I don't want to play the devil's advocate, I'll probably won't be playing this game anymore in a few days, but since the uniques will drop from endgame bosses, it makes some sense that it's the person/player who do manage do beat the event who has a go at creating them. There's a possibility the winners of these 'design a unique' prizes will sell them for money.
It was $1000-$1500 back in closed/open beta days to design unique. I reckon given the games growth $3000+ is not out of the question. So it's a valuable prize to win. EDIT: Streamer Quin69 just said on stream he'd pay $10,000 to Tytykiller if Tyty wins then lets Quin design the unique. Guess my $3000 estimation was way off! is not a question of "if" but more as "When"
He will win obviously, but the real question is how long it will take to him to kill all 3 bosses? I bet 45 hours. The others will try but will get killed as usual. |
