All the new 3.17 unique items shown so far are great!
I often see a lot of criticism on GGG in this forums, but I also wanted to highlight that when it comes to unique items, they seem to really have fully understood what these are about:
- Unique mechanics - Cannot just replace any rare item - If you want to use them, you have to build around them - Often heavy drawbacks for very high rewards - Don't seem overpowered but at the same time can be best in slot for dedicated builds - No overload of confusing text: we can easily understand what they do - No added unnecessary minor stats that could make them look messy GGG: all these 3.17 uniques look awesome so far: please design all future uniques along the same principles!!! " New Staff + new Amulet can = 2.4 X standard Mirror Tier gear damage and complement each other (Attribute build with 3000 Attributes will give enough resists to amulet to compensate the Staff's heavy downside, and staff + 300% Ele Penetration will compensate all lost modifiers and about 140% more damage than fully crafted mirror tier). Yup. Don't seem OP. Also, The amulet has at least 2 mods which need reworded so they can't be read 2 different ways (they structured phrasing so that there is 2 meanings to the Requirement mod, and the first mod fails to disclose that the amulet itself is the source of Omniscience) Last edited by rekikyo#7718 on Jan 27, 2022, 1:01:08 AM

Y I have to agree with rekykio here... While I am all for more chase uniques, the combination of staff + amulet, especially if u throw a mageblood in there as well, seems a bit overboard. I for one at least hope those items are on the same rarity level as mageblood so it becomes a chase unique that does not destroy game balance entirely. Throw in too many of those and were back to 3.14 in terms of overall player power, and we all know what followed 3.14...

Also agree that the amulet and the staff look a bit too on the nose in terms of pairings its practically a set item. Individually i like them both but with them released together I kinda eye rolled.
That being said free win for wallet warriors was already a thing so maybe its just 2 new OK uniques. |

personally i got no problem with overpowered uniques.
if they bind their droprate to the amount of them being "on sale" that is. offline

another set of uniques i will never see. same as the ones from current league so i dont care.

" You do realize that even 1% out of only 10 000 is still 100? Not to mention there are a lot more players and some people might find several. Just buy one if it's for the 1% and become that 1%. |
