Linux (Vulcan) Modifier Keys not working as intended

This post is hopefully a bit more expansive than a previous post by another user (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3228868) describing some of the behavior of modifier keys in the recent build. After the most recent patch under release tag 3.16.3 I am experiencing a bug with the behavior of modifier keys on the client-side.

- Holding Ctrl does not allow me to access the second tier of skills, and flickers back and forth between the main skill bar and the secondary skill bar. I cannot select/allocate skills in the second bar. However, this does not prevent me from activating the skills previously allocated in that bar.

- Ctrl+Clicking an item does allow me to quick stash or quick sell an item at a vendor

- Ctrl+Clicking a scroll of wisdom does not allow me to "hold on to" a stack of wisdom scrolls to reveal several items in a row.

- Shift+Clicking does allow me to split a stack of items

- Holding Alt does not allow for a preview of sockets, nor a preview of item descriptions. It also causes a flickering effect similar to the skill bar issue with Ctrl.

I am currently running Ubuntu 20.04 and playing the game using Vulcan, with an NVIDIA 1070.

Hope that helps and happy to expand as necessary. Thanks team!

Exact same problem for me on Kubuntu 21.10 and PoE 3.16.3 since today.

Addition: holding shift while using currency does not allow to use that currency multiple times. Really a pain trying to 6socket/6link something ...

But switching from Proton 6.3.8 to Proton Experimental seems to solve the problem for now.
Can't reproduce on Kubuntu 18.04 under Vulkan (radv, X11, kwin, lutris-ge-7.0rc3-1-x86_64, mesa 21.3.4+git2201232227), works the same as before here.

I noticed the "ge" in your post and tried rebooting using glorious eggroll for proton - which caused the game to crash instead of launch. Switching over to forcing Proton 6.3-8, however, allows the game to run and the bug is gone. Could be a proton rather than a client issue?
I too am having this problem in Steam running Kubuntu 20.04, without the "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" enabled. I will try different proton versions and report back.
DX11 - Runs but bug persists.

Had to stop start the game a few times before it actually started. But once running here are the results.

Proton Experimental - Bug is resolved
Proton 6.3-8 - Bug is resolved
Proton 5.13-6 - Runs but bug persists
Using Proton 6.3 fixes it for me as well. I had been running on 5.10 as the last time I tried to upgrade something or other wasn't working (might have been an issue with my distro, NixOS, though).

I suspect it's an interaction between some Proton patch and kwin. I'm running the standalone client under Lutris, using the Wine-7.0rc3-GE-1 runner from https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/wine-ge-custom/releases
