Awakened poe got me banned
" This was my guess if it was an Awakened PoE ban. Some time ago I was refreshing the PoE trade page at the start of a new league looking for a tabula for a good deal. I ended up getting locked out of the Trade page for some time and that's when I realized that the site was viewing my refreshes as malicious. If you can get a lockout just from refreshing the search I can see how a 3rd party could easily be viewed as a DDOS. |

If my first ban was a warning they should atleast know you have been using thrid party site and futher usage will result in perma ban. But I got reply from them when they unbanned that my appeal was successful and you can continue playing game. Thats why the POE system failed to let user know without warning perma banning. And NO game i even played banned and unabnned a warning without a proper message. And they just do one review without understanding player's situation if it was intentional or not ban perma. For them it can be one player but I think they should atleast consider how much effort was put into building an account.
And I dont think i used the awawned poe for DDOS purpose as i was using just a normal user. But perma banning an account which was played for around 8 years is bit too harsh. |

I am a long time player and i use Awakened Trade since several years and i trade and play a lot of POE.
Also people in my guild and many friends use Awakened Trade. I am 100% sure Awakened Trade (if used normally as intended) did not get you banned. Last edited by Monkeyface#7689 on Jan 26, 2022, 4:01:42 PM

If that is what has gotten him banned, then I would be careful advertising that you use Awakened POE as well...
Then again, POB and APOE are used by so many people that I would really like for a developer to chime in and let us know what is what. The TOS are pretty clear, but are there exceptions for such benign and widely used software? More than enough bans to go around. Because an indie game can afford to alienate its player-base. |

All i see is compelte fault of POE system because how they can determine what is good use of POE tool. Les say I want check all my item in a quad stash tab use APOE then i would definitely check them quickly as there no guidelines on how many price checks in a minute is considered expploting or DDOSing. If they have seen people using tool in a bad way by spamming(which normal people like me are not aware) they should ban the site from accessing the game. Or give guidelines no more than 4 requests per minute or something like that. They should keep use it or dont use. Not ban randomly for using without any bad intention.
TBH i never seen such bad system on banning. They should learn from games like League of legens, Runescape, etc how they handle such usage by giving exact reason/logs for getting banned. So that people behave well/ play properly next time. Not just perma ban directly without any warnings. And people say APOE did not get me banned, but APOE and POB(import my characters to check DPS) are the only 3rd party i used and I can challange any POE accounts team on that. But they dont want to give exact reason why i was banned because I can expoit it next time as if I they think im gonna start a fresh account after playing for 8 years. |

" That's exactly what they think and the reason they have that policy..... |

" you don't get a permanent ban from spamming their services resulting in them locking you out. ggg did temporarily lock accounts who used a certain tool which' refresh rate has been too high until the guy responsible fixed that tool. regarding "this tool is allowed or not", it doesn't work this way. tools are permanently improved and changed, it might be that you use a older, legal version while users using the latest version use bannable functionality. there is always a risk involved using external tools, when you update them you should always check what functionality the developers added and if the tool includes downloading data from the internet (like some of the logoff scripts do) or automatise stuff, just don't update it. offline Last edited by cronus#1461 on Jan 27, 2022, 8:28:44 AM
