I'd say currency, map, and a few premium(I guess since SSF could just be non-premium) tabs are really all you need. If you continue to play a lot, frag, and div card would be my next gets.

I have around 15 stash tabs that are almsot maxed in leagues.
The last time i was in SSF Standard sorting old tabs i was looking at around 30 read only tabs, and most of them had semi decent items for my liking. So there's that. I assume something in between would suffice if you're not a big hoarder. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

" Depending what league mechanics u interact with I at least recommend all specific tabs aside from deli and metamorph (don't feel those are necessary). So that's - currency - essences - delve - fragments - div cards - blight - unique Especially since u would probably keep more items in SSF than in trade where u would sell them I also recommend 1-2 Quad Tabs for additional storage. |

Spoiler
![]() You don't need any, because nobody plays SSF/Standard. ![]() |

Need? None, at least for casual play.
Ihave a separate account for some organised guild stuff, entirely group-found, and went from 2013-2017 without any extra tabs (because I didn't purchase any coins). This only runs one or two toons up to 80-90 level, per league, but it was plenty of space. It went one tab for currency, one for gear, one for maps and one for dumping stuff. But it did get very hard to cope. In Harbinger league (with all the extra shards) I fnally gave in and got a supporter pack on the account so I could get a discrete guild stash and extra tabs for currency and div cards. Later added fragments, essences, finally fossils plus a quad tab. (And the maps, plus various consumables, go in a guild tab). Still going now with no additions and I don't run out. If I wanted to run multiple characters, and stockpile crafting bases, and accumulate all the other bits that might be needed... maybe another few quad tabs, and I might even consider the other league tabs? Looking for a mature guild to play with?

too many, at this point.
You need a tab for each class of item if you're doing any decent amount of playing, and most of those will need to be the specialist tabs. You'll also need tabs for doing chaos/exalt recipe since you wont be trading. |

Yes.
All of them. It both makes your gameplay so much easier, and you support a awesome game in the process. "There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. " ~ Hunter S Thompson ~

Comes down to personal choices. I bought close to 100 Premium tabs and all of the special ones. The only regrets I have is that I only use about 30 of the Premiums for anything. I bought them before the Special tabs were a thing. I remember I used to have pages devoted to each currency type because they didn't stack large like the do in the currency tab. I had pages and pages devoted to gems because we didn't have merchants that would sell us gems. I was a pack rat. I regret it. Standard is very difficult to play in because my stash is so cluttered with crap.

"Need" is very subjective. And it's hard for me, owning all the tabs for years, to be able to assess the situation, as the game is vastly different than it was back when 4 tabs were more than doable.
But there are three tabs a know I couldn't live without today: - Map - Fragments - Currency But those are of course based on my playstyle. If you engage A LOT in Delirium/Blight/Metamorph or whatever, those tabs do of course become more valuable. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
