Side Content Still Isn't Very Rewarding - (List of all core Leagues)
Recently side content was buffed to some degree but many still feel pretty bad IMO.
Either from a rewards standpoint, progression or gameplay. Delirium - It layers into other mechanics. Cluster jewels were nerfed which sucks for certain builds. I kinda don't think a medium cluster jewel with 2 notables should be worse than one mastery pick. Other rewards are fine. It's just a case by case situation for builds, Dual Wield sticks out the most. Delve - A solid and rewarding side trek. Personally I wish it was detached from maps a bit more. Gaining Sulphite is it's only map interaction. I'd suggest at the very least moving the Sulphite per map to the 1st notable. That way players can passively gain and/or push it. Heist - Best RPG elements in the game but also some of the most boring game play in it's current state. I could make a whole other post about how to bring back some of the stealth via patrols only and things like the detection totems. Rewards are of course good however the coin gain doesn't come close to keeping up with blueprint gains often resulting it just skipping about half of them. Expedition - This doesn't feel like it was adjusted to core at all. Far too little currency. Rog is esp hard to make use of. Log books while not having 'bad' drops are far too rare for what they drop. Blight - Nerfed in rewards when it went core then buffed? It still doesn't feel worth while to do Blighted Maps. Blight encounter in maps generally feel fine (If you spec into them) and will cover your oil needs so it feels like a sell the map situation. Note: Haven't tried new 'Uber' version of Blight but the fact it exists kinda reveals what's been done to the base drops IMO. Betrayal - Still good. Still solid rewards. If I had one complaint, it's that there's still utterly pointless members in the roster. The addition of letting them go was a nice perk. Incursion - Still pretty much a 21/23 spam. I did a lot this league since I knew it would be unlikely to buy a WildStrike 21/23. Previous Map sustain is gone. Legion is okay? Other rewards in general are just not worth the time. Esp having to do 4 rounds per temple. Legion - Still pretty fun to do but the progression feels so god awful slow to get into Timeless Conflict. Let alone the Uber version. Map rewards are questionable and splinters are far too few. Wish I could actually get to do this more. If you don't spec it's just painful. Breach - Boring in maps and always at the mercy of tilesets. It's just this thing you do so you can go fight a boss at higher tiers. The map interaction is in serious need of improvement. I've mentioned on other topics that Scourge mechanics would slide into this well. Metamorph - Always been a decent concept done badly. Mostly graphical. Black crap just painting the area. Map rewards are somehow worse than ever since the addition of new Catalysts. Much like legion this one suffers from progression issues collecting parts to make metamorphs in the lab. There's just little presence of this league in the game. Abyss - Oh what happened to you Abyss. I enjoyed this league for the most part but now it just needs help. Hoards drop nothing. Lich rewards are all nerfed and Eyes are so wonky with their rolls now. There's just nothing here for rewards. I would recommend maybe adding levels to each Abyssal Depth so it feels more like a mini dungeon crawl and notably improving those drops. Ritual - Don't know why this went live. It has no content attached to it at all. Not even an NPC to explain to players what it is. it's not fun. It has no game changing aspects involved. Just a discount Ultimatum. Please replace when you figure more mobs != more difficult. Bestiary - God this league sucked. It went live anyways though cuz crafting and the big map area everyone looks at once then never again. Since it's a crafting mechanic I can't elaborate too much on it's recent state. The gameplay is obviously better than the league. Harvest - It does crafting stuff. Sometimes it's handy. Most the time not. The actual gameplay is awful though. It stops you dead in your tracks while mapping and forces you to portal grab gear and such and spend time with it. Very clunky. Torment - Dead. All this does is make some bosses into a mess. It's an annoyance. Talisman - Also dead. Even the Kraggler couldn't save Talismans since they were reverted.
