Creeping Frost questions
Hi,
I feel like I'm asking something that should be perfectly obvious, but for some reason I am unable to find a conclusive answer: does the DoT from multiple chilling areas generated by Creeping Frost (CF) stack? More to the point, would CF benefit from supports like LMP/GMP or (Greater) Volley? Even though I only just reached act 2, Volley seems very underwhelming when paired with CF. Also, according to PoB, the Elemental Overload keystone boosts CF's DoT. I'm not sure why. The keystone only mentions hits and ailments. Is a chilling area considered to be an ailment? (Chilled is of course, but that is a non-damaging ailment.) Thanks. Last edited by Amplifiction#4889 on Jan 2, 2022, 7:17:27 PM Last bumped on Jan 3, 2022, 9:59:26 AM

Same ground effects don't stack. And yes, if the hit from CF crits and procs EO, the CF DoT will benefit from EO because it's a secondary effect caused by the hit.

Creeping Frost damage comes from Hit and DoT.
Hit part (an explosion) can overlap so increasing number of projectiles can be helpful. Supports like GMP lessens the hit damage though. DoT part is dealt by ground effect and does not stack. Those supports don't cut DoT. EO boosts only hit damage but not DoT. |

"You are right. I didn't think about the EO rework in that regard. Used to work but no longer does. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

" Yep, I read the PoB stats all wrong. EO doesn't boost the DoT portion at all. Guess I need more sleep! Thanks. |
