Please make loot filters editable in-game
It's been almost 7 yrs since loot filters were introduced with the 2.0 expansion - please integrate them into the game itself so we don't have to go outside to change something in the filter!!

IMHO the side interface would be either clunky or you'd cover too much of the screen.
It's already great to have the button to open the filters folder. My M.O. (modus operandi, what I do) is: I use and keep Sublime 3 pinned to my taskbar and it always opens with all the items(files) I left opened before. |

" The external editing could still be an option for people who don't mind doing it. But imo there should be an option to copy/paste a filter directly into the game & make changes to it - Neversink does an amazing job of creating filters & keeping his filters updated but the syncing of filterblade to PoE is clunky and delayed. Just being able to copy his filters directly into the client would be awesome Too much stuff in PoE already forces the player to leave the game and go to a browser. I feel that things like trading, loot filtering, list of affixes/tiers (poedb/craftofexile) etc should be integrated into the game client itself. |

Loot filters are very complex, I doubt something user-friendly can be implemented to cover all it's features (eg. identified rares based on mods, chancing bases, specific influenced items, tiered unique items, etc).
I would like to have at least some form of multi-levels loot filter. For example, in juiced maps my PC freezes for several seconds if I hit ALT key. There should be a key that shows the items on the ground based on a secondary loot filter. Last edited by 6_din_49#4066 on Dec 28, 2021, 5:24:52 PM

" Why not just make it KISS as that: You throw somth on the ground and alt+rightclick on it and chose show/hide from current filter. Should already resolve alot of things. |

" This would work for currency, but for the rest, not really. Don't forget that most loot drops unidentified, and there are many uniques with same base. For example, if you choose to hide "Immortal Flesh", you'd also hide "Headhunter". For identified items, it would end up running a lot of messy code behind the scenes, because people would add thousands of rules. Then if you realize you've hidden the wrong item, it would be a pain to fix that mistake. |

" Yes, but currency tuning if usually fine for ne. And enough. I can use any fresh filter for current valued uniqs, and just tune currency I need to hide and show. If need bases, better to trade, but those who play ssf, need extensive filter editing anyway. Ssf is for those who have all time in a world, like. So why not to grind scripts too.. |

download notepad++. has inbuilt search filters and thus it's very easy (nope-not fast) to establish a filter quite excactly tailored to the needs of ur curent build ( or upcoming if ur ur on a framingspree)
now regarding the LE filter - it's quite a stretch of comparison. 1st off) in last epoch u have smth. like a "smart loot drop system in place" - meaning the game will throw gears at ur feet that actually could enhance the thing ur playing right now - with a bit of rng ofc ( it's an EA title so when i say that i mean that getting an all t7 item is quite literally like solving the fundamental paradox in quantummechanics). whereas in poe 1 this is not the case whatsoever. poe 2 must have have something similar or else it's gonna be like a bf 2042 disaster or alike - the 1990's are over and in the past.... 2nd) without an actuall reliant crafting system in place all the adjusted loot drop system - if it ever sees the light of day - is completely uselsess. what i mean by that is that the vast majority of poe players have no clue whatsoever how to craft - however due to the nature of the system they are NOT to blame for their stupidity or w/e u like to call it. here's an example: dude i got into the game had a drop. thought he uses the 2ex suff/pref cant be changed AND scoured the item - quitted the game indefenitely after that action turned his item into a white, normal useless item.... 3rd) pre harvest foil crafting as an example: u would have to go through all avenues in order to get a HIGH dps foil. That meant at the time buying like 80k+ alterations. and no it's just not that...you w'd have to get ur hands on fossils/ resonators/essences etc.etc. - it's frankly quite insane and NOTHING of this is explained ingame whatsoever - plus in addition if you wouldn't bulk craft you w'd end up with smth. like a bad paradoxica. ( i picked melee here just to highlight the absurd nature...you can get way better results crafting around the current meta or even melee (k..lol) if ur LUCKY as fuck !) In LE u press 1 button "g" - the game guide and have all the mechanics in place + the whole crafting interface is just selfexplanatory and doesn't screw u over ( it will - however unlike in poe u don't have to have bookmarked 5+ external ressources plus a datamined freaking weithtings website...i mean what the actual wtf?) In conclusion: Loot drops outside of superjuiced nemesis maps are in a abysmal state. Which means ur an idiot running content without. (your not but from an efficiency standpoint ( fk those nerds) you are)) Loot filters are editable very easy outside the game via 3rd party tools. The reliance on external ressources beside PoB is detrimential to the whole enterprise known as poe. Poe needs a more stable foundation after the 2.0 release - if you expendet 300ex on a tank (lol) build and it's uaseless after just 3 months this is going to severely kneecap what it's called "retention" pps.: fk all the timers srlsy. - its 2022. |
