Retaliation Charm: % Increased critical strike chance against blinded enemy
I have question about the mechanics / language of Retaliation Charm. The language reads "40% increased critical strike chance against blinded enemies". My question is, does this modify my character or my enemies? I.e., this this mod change the behaviour of being blinded, or just the behaviour of my critical strikes? The language suggests it modifies the behaviour of being blinded (i.e. it's a stateful effect that makes it easier to crit against blinded enemies). This is also the "intuitive" reading, since you'd assume that it's easier to make a critical strike if your enemy can't see what you are doing. On the other hand, what I've been reading on the wiki suggests that critical chance for minions is set at 5% and only rare exceptions can change it. I've been using it with a necromancer character under the assumption that my minions benefit from this. I'd love to confirm whether this combo actually works, of if I'm just wasting my amulet slot. And, if it's not a straightforward answer, I'd love some tips on how I could test to find out. On a related note ... I've also been assuming the "Increased Global Critical Strike Chance" on Diamond Flask applies to my minions. I've assumed that "global" means all game calculations for critical strike, but I can't actually find the game definition of Global. Subjectively, using the flask seems to significantly up the kill rate for my minions, but I'd love confirmation of what's happening here because ... again, the wiki information I've found suggests minion crit chance isn't affected. It modifies your critical strike chance just like regular "40% increased critical strike chance" but only against blinded enemies.
To affect minions, a stat have to either specify minions (e.g. Minions deal %increased damage) or interact with socketed skills/gems/etc (e.g. Socketed Spells have +2% to Critical Strike Chance). Global stats also affect you, not minions. Global/local is quite confusing topic, you can get the general idea here. |
