Awakener’s Orb and item level on items?

Do the 2 items have to be the same item level?

I have a shield with 2 frenzy charges and I have one with 2 power charges.

The shield with frenzy is item level 83 and the one with power is item level 84 I want to keep the shield with power charges that’s item level 84 because its the base I want to craft on. So if I destroy my 83 with frenzy with the orb and press it on the other shield is that shield still item level 84? And can it be done at all?

the target item is the only ilvl that matters, they do not need to be the same.

awakeners orb will keep the final item exactly the same as it is before.

this can lead to 'impossible' items:



these gloves are ilvl 73 (culling strike level). Level 20 Faster Casting requires ilvl 84 (my 'donor' item). however, awakener orb didnt give a fuuuuck, and put a high level mod on a low level item anyway.

your items can be any ilvl, mismatched or not. and the resulting item is only bound by rules for the 'extra' random mods.

So, those ilvl 73 gloves i posted, could not have rolled Max Frenzy Charge (ilvl 75), or melee strike range (ilvl 82), but COULD have rolled any warlord Spell Damage mod (ilvl 68/70/73)
