fortifying hits

hello , i am trying to follow a build but there is so much to discover its a bit overwhelming

and i am at the point where i put some point in the passsive tree fortification gain and steadfast

the passive says fortifying hit get 20% increase fortification

but i dont see any fortifying hit in my build i dont now how to get those i read the wiki about fortification and i only see my dread banner that give fortification when i drop it

but thats not a hit , so what did i miss please ? :)

i think i just found there is a mastery that make melee hit to fortify a bit later :)
