How about Easy Mode instead of Hard Mode?

As the title suggested.

The current state of the game is intolerable for people can't invest the time and effort for the grind.

After making hard more for the sweaty tryhards, how about making an "easy" mode that is basically 3.13 with harvest and stuff. With actual good drops and drop rate balanced around ssf. To play this mode you will have to pay premium fee, which is quite simple since most people in this group are probably older with extra cash (but lacking time).

So what do you guys think about this idea? How will it ruin the greatness of PoE? Would it be too hard to implement? And would casual people get bored because "game too easy" and come over to the hard mode vision of GGG?

It's the only way I'd play if it was real.

My most played leagues are the ones where I have the most resources and everything doesn't feel like a struggle.
I’d pay $$$ for SSF harvest league being permanent with it as it originally was. Or maybe synthesis, never got to play that league.

But honestly, GGG will never do this because player retention would plummet when people get bored, at least according to whatever data they have available and what Chris said, so I can only dream. :(

Because it would probably do well.

GGG doesnt want the game to be "easy". There is this elitism in both design and amongst a very vocal segment of players.

I would say that this is the prerogative of the developer though. If they want the game to be more hradcore and elite, then fine. They just have to accept the loss of the average / casual player count and revenue, something they are really fighting with.

But it cant be both. You just end up turning players against each other, and never satisfying either group. They need to pick a lane, communicate it, and focus on making that form of the game great.

The biggest downside of any extra modes is that players from each mode would be clammoring for attention from the developers. We already get that with SSF v. normals. Having extra modes on top of that would beg the question "who is the game being developed for?"
I'd like a PoE where respecing is cheap, there's no exp penalty for dying and power is mainly gained from the tree rather than gear.

Poe isn't hard, it's just unfair. The combat is far too basic to allow hardness.

I agree. However if they care about that why do they still try to add 'Hard more'? And if we can have hard more, why not easy mode as well. So it's ok to be hard, but not ok to be easy?
Sounds fun. I support this topic.

I'd love to drop something I can actually use. What a novel concept.

Considering Steam says only 1.5% of people have killed Sirus (obviously, that use the Steam client), my guess is most players would not complete all content on easy mode either, much less get bored of it.

I think it would be fine, make it a void 3 month league, or drop not into standard but 'easy mode standard'.

Have a banner on the screen saying 'easy mode' so all the kiddies can still stream bosses without it feeling cheap.

Haven't seen "hard mode" yet. It's pointless to talk about.
